Klay Thompson comp looking pretty solid. Discuss?

Ohhhh this thread is gonna be good. I knew I should've bought popcorn earlier.

I am caught in that weird spot between trying to move on and cheer for our own guy and at the same time suppressing the urge for an "I told you so" moment(or more) with several of the players I liked better than Lyles before the draft.

In any case, 1 summer league game isn't something to draw firm conclusions from and we won't have a general sense of what kind of impact those players will have through their careers until at least 2-3 years into their rookie contracts, but I can't help but feel we might regret missing on several of the players that were on the board at the spot we were picking.

Well my answer to this thread would be "Devin Booker is the hero the Jazz deserves but not what the Jazz needs right now" (crowded wing with Hayward, Burks, Hood).

This is who I wanted (aside from trading down/out) of the options still on the board. I don't believe he will be as good as Klay, but I do think he will be more than just a spot-up shooter. I understand why we went with Lyles & believe that he has as much, if not more, long-term potential than Booker, but I prefered Booker due to the fact that he would have actually had an opportunity to eventually start in the future (as well as compliment the starting 5 with his outside shooting), while Lyles will always be a 3rd big at best (on this roster). Summer league games mean nothing though & we are still a long ways away from finding out if we made the right decision. Imo, drafting Lyles over Booker was more of a reflection on the team's confidence in Burks/Hood (& obviously Lyles) than it was on the team not having confidence in Booker.

Well a 6'10 forward who dribbles like a guard, runs the floor, make plays, shoot 3's, constantly draw And-Ones is pretty hard to come by, so yeah pretty happy with Lyles.
