Shouldn't he be a little better than he is? I know he's a rookie, but what does he even do? Most rookies who are gonna be good can at least do something. We are getting nothing out of him. I don't really understand the idea behind drafting him. Usually if you draft players who are really raw and need a lot of development they have some athletic upside, size, or something. He's missing all of it. Did we really draft a project with no upside? We could have done a lot of other things with that pick.

I know it's early, but I'm not impressed.

Agree.... I really think he lost us the game.

He just looks out of sorts, we need to send him to the DLeague build that confidence!!!

He's playing scared. He seems star struck. I don't really blame him too much. Give me that talent and I'd still **** my pants every night for ~ a yearwalking out on that stage. I don't think we have seen who Lyles is yet. He's still in that omg this is the NBA phase. Once he starts just playing BBall we can see where he's at.

I am president Trey Lulz club. I tell you all before and everyone say he has nice balances and is stretching to three pointers. I can be dumb but I can know when I see weird jazz move and when they say he has it jazz DNA I know right then it's trouble.

In The Summer League he was back rimming all his shots - I thought it was just rookie nerves or being amped up after going pro. I can say now that his shot looks even worse now. He's aiming his mid range shots to the point where it every shot coming out of his hand looks flat - no chance of going it. His defense is probably worse - he looked like he was going to **** his pants on the Bosh iso's last night.

The kid really could have used another year or maybe two of college - put him in the D-League for maybe 20-30 starts and then see what you got.

I don't mind what I see from Lyles tbh, pretty sure he's taking the shots Quinn wants, I think its encouraging he's shooting 3's so early on - He must be making them in practice..

In 7.8 minutes per game he's 4th on the team with 1 oreb per game, that's encouraging too...

Shots just aren't falling right nowthru 8 games of situational minutes... It's not like he's in rhythm or anything, he comes in for a quick cup of tea to close out the 1st quarter, he's just getting his feet wet.

Bosh ate him up with those pump-fakes last night, he looked like a rookie - what did you expect out of that match-up though??

Bookers shot isn't falling either thats of much greater concern.. He was paid for instant returns... that's not how drafting 19 year olds works, especially not bigs..

I dunno man, Gordon went through the same thing his rookie year. That's the thing with guys who get drafted because they are highly skilled, it usually takes them more time to develop. Gordon didn't really click until his 5th NBA year, Nash took 4, Curry wasn't who he is until 2 years ago, Stockton didn't start til year 3. Not saying Lyles will be those guys, but we certainly didn't draft him for his physical abilities.

It's early.
He's always been soft.
Dude can shoot.

Give it time. I'm not overly optimistic, but it's way too soon...

I think it is amazing that they are giving Lyles real time this early on. We complained about not playing the youth, now we want to send the youth to the D-League? Play Trey Lyles, just don't start him. That means Gobert can't get hurt.
