Jazz Play Houston Today

Don't rush back Favors or Hill. I don't want to see them until they are ready to play at a high level.

On a positive note all this playing time is good for Dante. He should really eat up the 2nd team once Hill comes back.

Two separate things about James Harden amaze me. And then these two things multiply together, for quadruple-amazement:

1. The amount of shoving and grabbing he gets away with
2. The number of borderline calls he gets in his favor (as an offensive player)

He's a stupid sideshow. His entire game depends on the referees.

Let's not forget that Harden got two very questionable calls that produced six points in free throws when the Jazz were trying to force a comeback. Snyder never complains with the referees, what is this story?!

I think the jazz were exposed in this loss. Houston baited the jazz into playing their style of game, and the jazz swallowed the hook. We looked like a team with no philosophical or physical differences from a Space-and-Pace team -- but simply one that is begrudgingly playing slower. Playing slow sucks unless you find a way to grind people and use that pace to gain a physical advantage. We aren't doing that.

The only good thing in these past three games is Dante Exum. He's become a little susceptible to biting on fakes (as a defender), but his offense has had moments of 0_0. There were several possessions where he was clearly our best player on the offensive end. Two weeks ago I wouldn't have believed I'd be saying that any time soon.

Rooting for an injured team really sucks. It's way worse than rooting for a rebuilding team.

There was a miserable and embarrassing stretch of basketball between the 9- and 10-minute marks of the fourth quarter. Hayward basically throws away two possessions in the worst way. Is his finger an issue? When are we going to have to shut him down again? It's just a matter of time, right?

Snyder has to diversify this slow and predictable offense. I want to see some fast-break offense, I think it is possible with players like Hill, Exum, Burks, Hood and Lyles!

One bright spot for me is that im working about is much right now as I ever had in my life and when im not working im taking care of a baby.... so due to those two factors I have missed more jazz bball this season than any season I can remember. I usually don't miss a single game, pre-season included, but this year I have dvr'd a few games and then not found the time to watch them. I missed the last 3 quarters of the Chicago game, the second half of the Memphis game, and all of todays game (I work 12 hours today).

Dante Exum is starting to show some signs offensively that suggest his doubters will have much crow to chow down on.;) Up until now, I've been cautiously optimistic about him, and I can honestly say that I'm now legitimately excited about his future.

Watching Black Mirror now. Really taking the edge of this depressing loss.

Good night my Jazz family. It will get better tomorrow or in a few weeks.

Hard to do when you have wings like Hood/Johnson/Ingles. We are just so slow when it comes to up and down the court at that position.

I think that other teams have just focused on holding him down and daring the rest to beat them. Hay is just not good enough to succeed that way and the Jazz are not spacing well enough for him.

I'm going to assume when Hill comes back they will sit Hayward, if Hayward hasnt healed enough.

Did some people not notice Hill and Favors are out with injuries?

It's as if people expect to be missing 2 starters and have it not affect the team.

It is obvious the injuries are penalizing the Jazz but we don't have a superstar offensive player even at full strength.

I agree that Hayward still needs to play. But if he doesn't shoot poorly we win the last two games.

Hayward has some serious problems with the fundamentals on his 3pt shot. He drifts a lot on them and shoots too many of his 3's off-balance.

Hayward has consistently shown he is a very inconsistent 3pt shooter who is prone to long stretches of terrible 3pt shooting. This dates back to his days at Butler.
