Following potential 2017 draftees...

I think that is one in the same thing right now.

Players who can beat the Warriors are 2-way players, and those are the players everyone wants. It's not like anyone you draft to beat the Warriors is going to be useless against the 28 other teams.

The example I used was Jordan Bell. I think Jordan Bell would potentially be a perfect backup center to combat Warriors lineups where Draymond Green plays center. I think that would be a good pick if you want to win a championship. I think Bell could come in Day 1 and play 10-15 mpg backup center against the growing trend of teams playing small ball centers, especially against a team like the Warriors.

Guys like Jeanne, Pazenicks, or whoever might be a higher potential center due to size, but they aren't as good of fits to give the Jazz versatility to beat the Warriors and other teams that go to small ball lineups.

Yall are being dumb if you are saying picking with the thought of "Does this player help us beat the Warriors" is a bad idea. It's a great idea.

I hate to have to agree with you but I actually do with this argument. Teams draft to win championships, if a team isnt trying to win a championship they shouldnt have a team. That means drafting to beat the cav and the warrior who both use small ball lineups.

This is one of the reason I am so high on Jordan Bell and Semi Ojeleye. Both can create mismatches and be able to defend small ball line ups.

Bell could guard shooting centers like horford and green.

Ojeleye could guard stretch fours or big 3.

The warriors are an anomaly. If you want to build a team to compete with them, you're going to need to find an MVP caliber player who signs for a less than half his worth, and then you also need an historical jump in the cap so you can sign another MVP level player. You also will need a ton of luck to find two more all-stars to add to that.

It's beyond delusional to believe Utah can build a team to compete with this current Warriors team. Instead, you build the best team you can, and you wait for things to level out, which they will, at least to a point.

Jawun Evans is drawing interest from several teams in the 20s and will have upcoming workouts with the Trail Blazers on June 8, the Thunder on June 9, and the Jazz on June 10, league sources told Basketball Insiders. Evans also wrapped up a workout with the Lakers earlier this week.
Evans led all point guards in the draft class with a 43.6 assist percentage and has drawn comparisons to Chris Paul from league executives.
Tim Martin, Evans’ trainer, also mentioned the Paul comparison along with another pesky defender.

“I’ve always felt like he has the ability to defend like Patrick Beverley,” Martin told Basketball Insiders. “I’ve been saying that for years. I think he’s got defensive upside like Patrick Beverley and offensively he’s got a lot of similarities with Chris Paul. Once Jawun actually gets guys around him that are your prototypical size in terms of bigs, wings, and specialists in their field, that’s only going to make him a better player at the next level.”

Evans is listed just below six feet but uses his 6’5 ½ wingspan to clog the passing lanes and reach around opposing ball handlers to poke the ball away. It’s the longest wingspan measurement for any drafted player below six feet in DraftExpress’ system.
Today’s NBA style of play features a lot of pick-and-roll situations, something Evans is quite familiar with from his time at Oklahoma State. As DraftExpress notes, the team ran a pick-and-roll offense with 56.3 percent of Evans’ total derived offensive possessions (shots, passes, fouls drawn, and turnovers) ending as the pick-and-roll ball handler, per Synergy Sports Technology.
“He’s got a Kawhi Leonard type of personality,” Martin told Basketball Insiders. “He’s a man of few words, but his game speaks loud and says a lot. That’s how he is. He’s a great personality, just a good spirited kid.”

There is tons of good stuff in this article. Time to jump on the bandwagon before it's too late.

A Charlotte fan is floating the #11 pick on the RealGM board if Zach Collins is on the board. Seems that particular fan thinks they have enough white stretch-5s.

Evans is pretty much the only PG prospect in the 20 - 40 range of the draft. Some team will take him. I think he's a good player, just have a problem with the size issue. Raul Neto can't stay on the floor because he's a defensive liability no matter how hard he plays.

You think defense is the reason Neto doesn't play?

Defense is the reason he gets minutes.
