2017 Draft Thread

At least he's big. We could've done worse. I just wonder what's going to happen at our 4 spot? Is Favors going to come back healthy? If not, I can't see how he plays anything other than spot mins for Gobert. Which means that Bradley will be our 3rd center.

I wasn't excited about the Bradley pick, as there were other guys I wanted. However, DL had him targeted as the 2nd most player he wanted. Was going to draft him 24 if he wasn't able to move up, but still got him at 28.

Had a chance to move up for his guy and didn't want to risk losing out by a pick or two. We wanted him to be aggressive, but apparently some people wanted quantity as well. Sometimes you gotta pick your poison.

I had Bradley 28 on my big board so I'm okay. I think he's got a chance. He's mobile and long armed, best offensive rebounder in the class, high IQ on the court, good motor, underrated passer. And his offensive game has potential. He only shot 3 jumpers all year at Carolina so he wasn't really able to show what he could do there. He has a soft touch though. He reportedly shot it really well in workouts.

I just really wanted Semi or Bell. I really think both will be very good. Gonna suck that it's not with us.

Quality>>>>>>Quantity

If I didn't know better, the Jazz are either prepping for a full-rebuild or hedging for such an outcome.

Doing what we would do regardless of what we think Hayward is doing. It's what we kind of have to do. We can still make a trade after the draft.

I think that Houston would want the okc pick instead of one this year anyway.

We did not give away any first round pick for Gobert. Plus both Hood and Gobert were projected to go much higher than where they were actually drafted. The opposite for Bradley and guess who else? Lyles

Utah didn't give up a first here either. They traded a 2nd to move their first up 2 spots. The point is, even though you probably have 15 guys you wanted to draft, DL had his man targeted and was aggressive to make sure he didn't miss him by one spot.

And stop acting like you're a damn expert. I liked other players better too, but at this point in the draft, it's basically a crap shoot. Deal with it.

Tony Bradley will be our backup 5. He rebounds and well and has a 9'4/5" standing reach. He's a big body.

I think Bradley is a completely vanilla pick but he might be a guy who can play the backup minutes and he's cheap.

So David Locke knows the Jazz big board?
Probably. He's part of the organization even if it's just as an announcer. I have no doubt he was given this information by somebody who does.

Locke does not make stories up. He will spew the Organization line at every turn though. So I have no doubt he got this information from the organization.
