Burks Getting Trade Attention

How can no one see that Mitchell and Burks game are similar. The leash is the difference if Mitchell was getting Burks treatment he wouldn't be the star he is becoming and visa versa.

Similar is a far cry from the same. Mitchell has shown more actual talent in 40 Games than Burks has shown at any time in the NBA.

Especially considering Burks' biggest flaw is one of Mitchell's strengths. Defensively Mitchell is far better than Burks.

I really don't see many area's that Burks is even comparable to Mitchell. Mitchell is what we all hoped Burks would become, but he didn't and now Mitchell is better in almost every way. And it's not the leash that is different. Mitchell is simply already a better player than Burks.

Yes, Mitchell is a better version of Burks. But, Burks can still get to the hoop, draw a foul, or make an athletic play unlike any other player on the team minus Mitchell. Why would we want a Mitchell type backing him up? Plus, our real win streak happened with Burks playing a big role.

Because Burks is not really like Mitchell. Burks is a poor passer and Defender and poor at finishing near the rim. I could go on, but Burks is just not that close to Mitchell and his flaws make him not much like Mitchell.

Yeah but other than that they’re pretty much the same, right?

Mission Accomplished is a troll good lord whose existence is based around having one really controversial bad take. Now that Hayward is gone I guess he has to attach himself to a new player to hate that makes no sense.

I never said same exact player. No one on the Jazz current roster is Mitchell besides Michell. His game is similar he is playing with the second unit so his whole role is different. Mitchell wasn't finishing at the rim his first little bit. It took time for him to build confidence like LeBron said given the same type of development investment and follow through who's to say he could not have been better.

Kanter, is finally blossoming when they are letting him play not try to make a three point chucking big out of him. Same will happen to Favors and Burks when they leave.

I can agree with you that maybe Burks becomes something after he leaves Utah. For some reason, he has always been on the outs. Maybe it's because he plays completely out of control, or maybe it's because there is a disconnect with the coaching.

But don't even bring up Favors. We have gone above and beyond and out of our way for years to cater to the guy. More than 5 years ago, we should have told him to cut the crap and play center like he should. Instead, he feels like he's a PF and he never develops into anything special. Like you said, we made Kanter stand out and shoot three's. Hell, we made Millsap try to play SF.

If and hopefully soon when Favors goes elsewhere, I hope he has success. I really do. However, that will never be the fault of the Jazz. We did everything humanly possible to support him and make him a good player.

Who tried to make him into a three point chucking big? He spent 3.5 years with us, played 265 games, and attempted 44 threes.

Except that Favors had to put up with the Hayward orgy fest that the Jazz gave him while they shaved Favors minutes. After last year Favors seemed to lose interest in the Jazz scheme. He seems different now that Hayward is gone. But, this obsession with stretch fours while telling him he is a five is plain dumb.

I agree with you in some points but believe a healthy Burks would have presented a better argument, we have never been able to witness that ...
