Utah Jazz and Enes Kanter Workout Report

I like the tight-lippedness of this. Keep teams wondering. If they want to move up to get him, make a great ****ing offer.

Lots of people are speculating that it is the Jazz who are keeping this quiet. What if it is Enes and his agent would only work out for the Jazz if they agreed to keep it quiet?

Draft Day is going to be interesting....

The Jazz always play it close to the vest. That's how they operate. Look at the D-Will trade compared to the Carmelo trade...

In all seriousness, I think Kanter and Utah are starting to fall in love with each other. I would think that Kanter's agent is probably pushing for Utah. He realistically isn't going to fall beyond 3 while the 2 options ahead of Utah aren't exactly the ideal franchises that you want your client playing for. Despite all of the recent changes in Utah, the Jazz are still a stable orginization that has a pretty good history of how well their European players like the area.

On the Jazz end of this, O'Connor has never made it a secret that you get bigger ANY chance you get. If Kanter blew Utah brass away in his workout, KOC is probably devising any angle he can to land him as we speak. Both sides keeping their mouth's shut is probably Phase 1 of the plan.

Or he is pushing for Utah to trade the pick to Washington, Kanter's #1 choice. By both parties acting like they like each other they both gain something they want.

- What could we possibly want from the Wizards?

- Knight won't fall past Toronto - too risky.

- Don't tell me KOC had his eyes on Valanciunas all along.

Possible, but I think my scenario is much more realistic. Again, with such a weak draft after the top 3 or 4, why would KOC want to pull off a deal that puts him at 6? Did you see how giddy the man was at the lottery when he realized the Jazz were in the top 3? Washington would have to blow him away with an offer and I just don't see how they pull that together.

They'd have to include an unprotected 2012 pick.
Then the Jazz wouldn't necessarily have to trade one of their bigs to make room for Kanter. They could maybe draft Valanciunas and let him cook a little longer in Europe, AND then with that 2012 pick they'd have a better chance at Harrison Barnes. If not Barnes, Gilchrist. If not Gilchrist, Perry Jones. If not Perry Jones, Rivers. If not Rivers, ....

Absolutely.

According to NBA.com Consensus Mock Draft this is the list of who will be left at #6 pick and below:

- #6 - Walker
- #7 - Leonard
- #8 - Vesely
- #9 - Biyombo
- #10 - Burks
- #11 - Thompson
- #12 - Morris

See anybody there you think could have us in a meaningful way?

Well, it has at least been reported that the Jazz really like Kemba, so maybe they are trading down to get him. Maybe they are getting a future 1st from Washington? Possible 3 way trade?

I don't care if the Jazz get a future unprotected 1st from Washington (best case scenario IMO). If the Jazz trade down for Kemba (thus assuring that they've passed on either Kanter or Knight), I won't even have the words for how stupid that is.

I'm sure KOC will be very upset you aren't pleased.

Yikes. If they threw in an unprotected 2012 pick I might be ok trading down if it got them Valanciunas. I think I've seen enough promise in JV to accept him instead of Kanter if it gets the Jazz their unprotected 2012 pick. JV still needs another year or two in Europe though.

There's a possibility I'd be ok trading down to Biyombo too even though, excited as I am about him, I haven't watched nearly enough of him to do be willing to do this with any confidence.

But yeah, don't know that Washington would give up their 2012 pick unprotected and then it wouldn't be worth it. Best to just take Kanter.

Kanter has nothing to gain by keeping things quiet. If word gets out that the Jazz *love* him, it will do nothing but make the Cavs and Wolves consider him for their picks and have other teams inquire about trading up with the Jazz to get him.

The Jazz aren't going to trade #3 for #6 in this or any draft. If there is a player the Jazz like, they should just take him. No one is going to criticize them for picking at 3 instead of 6, but if they miss out on a good player they could have had, someone could get fired.

No one on the Jazz ever gets fired.

My compilation is better :)... but for what it's worth I have the same individuals in almost the same order.
6 Kawhi Leonard (11-11-11-11-10-9-5-6-7-8)
7 Kemba Walker (5-5-5-5-5-6-7-5-5-7)
8 Jonas Valanciunas (7-4-8-7-8-7-9-8-8-5)
9 Bismack Biyombo (8-8-7-8-7-8-8-9-9-9)
10 Alec Burks (9-9-9-10-9-10-10-10-10-10)
11 Tristan Thompson (12-15-13-13-12-12-11-11-11-11)
12 Marcus Morris (14-14-12-12-13-13-13-12-12-12)

i cant believe kemba walker wil be picked so high
exccluding the first 3, its a really weak draft
