What's new

Following Potential 2018 Draftees

I like you, you’re my guy, but how can you type that he scores at 3 levels? He’s literally one of the worst shooters in the draft.

Because I'm looking at him as a prospect rather than a finished product. Brown has good touch at the rim and can finish with either hand. He can shoot mid-range jum[pers, and he can shoot from 3. His college percentages are mediocre, but he projects to be a 3-level scorer.

Another thing I'm looking at is the fact that he's only one year removed from high school where he played point guard and, more often than not, played with the ball in his hands. He had no trouble driving all the way to the rim and scored most of his points in the paint. Now he's being asked to play off the ball and spot up on the wing. It's a different role and something he's not accustomed to. There's no reason to expect he won't be able to make the transition to playing the wing full time, but he needs to develop that aspect of his game.

Every year there are new buzz phrases that, if you don’t have, you “can’t play basketball in today’s NBA.” First it was “stretch four,” recently it’s “positionless basketball,” and more recently it’s “scoring at all three levels,” which I take to mean you can score from deep, from the mid range, and at the rim. Could be way off, because I couldn’t survive in “today’s game.”

We need more of these... I love business phrases that really mean nothing that everyone uses.

I'm just ready for draft day. One of my favorite days of the year. Grab a beverage, kick back on the couch, turn the tv to ESPN and be online at the same time keeping up with trades and Jazzfanz ... Good times. It's like Christmas morning.

Same here man. It's actually better than Christmas for me as I won't have to watch GSW, Celtics, Cavs, etc, on TV.

Well this is gonna make draft day even MORE interesting.

The Suns has #1 and #16.

If I were the Spurs I'd do #1, #16 and Josh Jackson without blinking.
Anyone would do that deal, Suns would be dumb to do that trade.

Zhaire Smith isn't going to be there at 21. He also isn't good at, you know, basketball.

This team has plenty of dunking ability if they can space the floor effectively, but more athleticism would be nice.

LOL in what regard? You watch a lot of Texas Tech this year?

35 hours til the draft!!!!!!

I can't wait to see what happens in the 15-45 range of this field.

I think its so crazy that these first 3 teams will pass on Mo Bamba... That kid can shoot.........................................................

I'm pretty excited myself. I plan on waking up in the middle of the night here, and tuning in.

Jerome Robinson is definitely out of range. chalk up another one on the PG_AB was right all along ledger..

haha Idk if it was here but I can recall someone getting uppity with me on a forum when I said Jerome Robinson is easily the best player at BC since Jared Dudley and Reggie Jackson.

Remember the fat kid Cy liked from UCLA, that was picked before Hood? Jordan Adams, many here thought he'd be better than the more flamboyant Zach LaVine. Jerome robinson way better than Adams at that style of ball and just cuz Cy's an inconsistent sucker i bet he hates on Robinson.

If the Suns were to take Robinson at 16 it would be to play next to Devin Booker, and I think it could work, and tbh this would likely push Okobo down cuz I was kinda thinking he'd be a decent fit for this type of thing..

i get weird looks when i say it is my summer christmas

Anybody have any ideas what's going to happen with Gortat? Seems like both #15 (Wiz) and #17 (Bucks) are available.

Sounds crazy, but maybe we could pull off something like:

Wiz get Burks and #17
Bucks get Gortat, Bradley, #44, #52
We get Dellavadova, some other expiring from Bucks and #15

Wiz drop back 2 spots to shed disgruntled Gortat. Burks might actually help them since they are pretty open.

Bucks get a much needed center, a center prospect and trade Dellavadova's $9 million for 2019/20. For a cash strapped team, this move helps with now and next summer. They could target lil Greek Freak with the #44.

We would have #15 and #21. Dellie is an upgrade over Neto and gives us a warrior for our playoff run next year. We arent estactic at paying him $9 in 2019/20, but the extra 1st is worth it.
