Following Potential 2018 Draftees

I like Khyri, but he doesn’t provide the same spacing as Huerter. Khyri is a good shooter, but Huerter is stroking it from 30 ft on a regular occasion. That literally spaces a defense out more. Look at how far out guys have to come to defend Curry. Makes a big difference for an offense.
Huerter won't be taking 30 footers on the Jazz. Also, if you are going to take that position - that Huerter is better at 30 footers- , provide some evidence to back it up. Otherwise you're just talking out of your ***.

Throwing us off the scent. Musa is in play

#LockeWatch
Locke eliminated Melvin Frazier and Dzanan Musa from consideration in the first 2 minutes of his draft day podcast.

IMO it's all bur certain that if we go by #LockeWatch what we do is draft
1. Huerter if he falls to us
2. Grayson Allen
3. Mo Wagner...
4. dark horse option - trade up for Miles Bridges if he falls far enough.

IMO most realistically we draft Allen.

nbadraft.net made a single move on their latest mock draft edition and that's to move Grayson Allen from the 30s to 21 for the Jazz

DX/ESPN/Givony moved Grayson Allen to 21 to the Jazz in his latest mock today too.

edit: it seems like nbadraft has moved Allen up to 19 now.

I think the Jazz like Allen, but I think they're milking it through their signaling, hoping it might get someone to bite on him earlier and leave them with someone they like more.

But literally none of us have any actual clue.

If we pass on Okobo, Brown, Musa (I'm warming up), and KBD for Allen I will likely have to quit Jazzfanz for a few weeks. I will walk around shoulders hunched with Charlie Brown music playing for a while.

Outside of Simons... I like every player mocked after us from 22-30 more than Allen.

There's no way we would pass on Brown and Okobo for Grayson Allen, imo. There's nothing wrong with saying, "The Jazz like Allen." This doesn't mean the Jazz would draft him at #21 ahead of other guys.

Yeah, that would be some real ********. Every single one of those players would have to bust IN ADDITION to Allen becoming serviceable to feel okay about the pick. I'm just not sure where the upside is. Is Allen ever going to be a starter or closer? I can see Brown being the heir to Ingles, Okobo eventually taking over at point, and KBD starting opening night, but... what, Allen comes off the bench and makes some shots sometimes?

If there's a guy in this draft who could become something like Steph Curry, I think it's Anfernee Simons, not Trae Young.

If that is how the draft fell I think I'd stay at 21 take Brown or Okobo... no need to trade up... tremendous value at 21 imo.

He gets so many loose balls doe!

I would be so underwhelmed with the pick. I think we could find a replacement for what he gives at a bargain price. If they are going that route just trade back and get some more stuff. I hope we are targeting something better than that.

I've been saying this for a while now. I'm perfectly fine with Grayson Allen if he is part of a trade down. For example, if we get Grayson Allen at #26 because we get #26 and #38 from Philadelphia, then so be it. I can be fine with that.

If we just stay put at #21 and take Allen, he's going to have to prove a ton of people wrong. That's a tough spot to be in.
