2011 draft.....

KOC has everyone guessing--

Jonathan Givony: The draft starts at #3 with Utah. No one has any clue what they're doing. You can ask 100 NBA people. 60 will say Knight, and 40 say Kanter.

And he has lots of options--

Jonathan Givony:Also being discussed for Utah: Trading #3 to Washington for #6+18. Then take whoever's left between Walker or Knight at 6. Kanter would go 3

Jonathan Givony: Spoken w/a few agents who have had clients drafted by Utah in the past. None had any idea that it was for sure going to happen until it did.

Supposedly 3 for 6+18 from the Wizards is being discussed. If the Jazz think Knight could fall to 6, I would be down for this. Then use 18 on someone like Jordan Hamilton (who is projected by DX to go 20)

I would consider that trade, maybe see if we could get a second rounder out of them, or get out pick back from them next year.

Jazz get the #2, keep the #3.

Williams and Knight would be great additions.

It all comes back to what are doing? Are we trying to rebuild and create a team with serious championship aspirations? Are we okay with being terrible for 2 or 3 years? Or we trying to make the playoffs every year and integrate some young talent? Hope that Favors becomes an MVP candiate?

Millsap is/would be a integral part of us having a real chance at the playoffs this year. Also assuming AK is gone, CJ and Millsap are our only players who have played serious minutes for teams won that have playoff series.

I was thinking
#6 Kemba or Knight,

#12 Motijunas,

#18 whoever is left from Hamilton, Singleton, Burcs, Harris, Thompson

If you make that trade for Williams you have to be 99% sure that Williams is for real as a SF, and not just a good starter, but an All-Star.

I like this from an overall talent influx be we need to turn some of these additional picks into future picks.

Yeah, that would be good. It would make our team ridiculously young. Three sophmores, Three rookies coming in, and 2 more 1st round rookies scheduled for next year. Methinks if this happens trades for some veterans may be in place.

If KOC really believes Biyombo/JV will be there at 12, take Knight and don't look back. I can't imagine being any happier than a Knight/Biyombo/JV draft.

Agree completely.. I've said I'd rather have Knight/Biyombo than Kanter/anyone at #12.

Or use the #18 to trade up (with the #12) to something like #8. That would make it the #3 and #12 for the #6 and #8. Might be worth it.

On 1280 they are talking to Michael Smith (I think). He is saying that Minnesota wants Millsap, 12 and GS's pick next year for #2. I would do that in a heartbeat. Millsap is good, but you are trading him for Williams. The 12 pick is probably crap, and GS's pick could be good, but with Jackson coaching that team, there is a GREAT chance we don't even get that pick.

I'd seriously consider Millsap and #12 for the #2. Seems fair to both teams, anyway. Don't think I'd include GS's pick next year.

I think it's pretty obvious that the T'wolves don't really want Derrick Williams. They're shopping the pick pretty hard. The Jazz could offer a player and #3 (Kanter). The reality is that no one is going to give the Wolves too much for the pick.

A million times over. Knight won't be there at #6, and the difference (dropoff) between Knight and Walker is most likely much larger than whatever the Jazz might get at #18.

Knight and Biyombo/JV, and you can call it a day. Even if the Jazz should find a way to draft Butler as well.
