2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

I think it's sad how many armchair GM's there are on this board who know so much more than DL. Personally, I'm glad we still have Exum. Top five in the league in downhill speed, top five in defensive capability, and was really starting to reward Jazz brass faith when the latest injury happened. He's very young and improving. They knew when they drafted him, it would be a process. Injury/confidence issues etc, have kinda derailed his progress, but he's worth the 11m.

Cue up "Sometimes, the best trade is no trade." 3, 2, 1....

Wash, rinse, repeat.

It may be legitimate. Making bad trades can absolutely kill a team, particularly a small market team that may have fewer avenues available to it to recover.

On the other hand, being overly risk averse, and making no trades, can make it hard for a team to upgrade, particularly a small market team that is not a free agent destination and is fated to remain in mid-late draft.

The upside is that I don't need to feel bad about trading away great dudes like Ricky and Derrick. So there's that.

I'm with you on this. When Exum looks good, he looks really really good. If he stays healthy, he solves a lot of our problems.

I mean, at least we ain't making a trade to free up a roster spot for Melo. Lakers are going to be some "must watch" basketball for all of the wrong reasons.

Magic is flirting dangerously with Michael for title of best NBA superstar becoming worst NBA GM.
