No, I added my own emphasis to the point you made. Ifs and buts won’t get us rings. So you just wanted to argue with me over a point I made that you agree with?
Lol. Ok.

tldrExum + Favors for Love has been the one that I’ve been saying is most realistic (plus a pick — many will say we should be getting the pick, but that’s just the reality from where I see it). This allows us more flexibility because we just operate over the cap, retain the MLE, and it is at least one scenario where retaining Rubio is in play.
Love has a terrible contract that could kill us, but there are a lot of serious positives that I think people would be neglecting. We’re really wanting a creator and we’re not seeing that in Love. We’re also wanting a dynamic defender. However, assuming any reasonable health, there are a few key things. The first is the obvious that he’s a guy who can space the floor from that position. The second is that despite not really being a creator, he’s going to occupy a huge vacuum in our offense and I believe easily scores 20+. It’s hard to know what his baseline offensive output is currently because of the years of being third option followed by last year of being in and out of the lineup (mostly out) and being on an absolutely ****** team. So, he’s not the 24 ppg Minnesota Love, but he’s not the 17 ppg Cleveland Love, either. While injuries are a large variable, he’s 30 and the next 3 years is our prime window and, honestly, he fits that time line. The biggest benefit, however, is that he can both space from the outside as well as rebound. When we have Favors on the floor with Gobert, the spacing is a problem. When we have someone else on the floor who can space better, we don’t have very good rebounding. Favors wasn’t closing games. How many close games did we lose because we could t secure easy defensive rebounds? When Favors would close, it was usually him coming up with timely rebounds that really helped us. The converse is the idea that he’s not a good defender and would get hunted for switches. It’s not ideal. There’s good and bad, but I think as an option farther down the list, bringing in Love is a move that, all things considered, does in fact push us up to the next step, and we’ll be a top three team in the West. Being able to jettison Exum in the process is like getting a discount on Love for the next two years.
Maybe, but I find it’s likelihood much higher than a lot of other things we’re discussing.tldr
He hasnt played over 60 games in the last 3 years.
It'd probably be a really bad trade.

That would be awesome. My major off season predictions.
Durant leaves GSW and he and Irving sign with the Nets.
Leonard stays in Toronto.
Russel, after being released by the Nets, signs with Indy.
Thompson stays with the Warriors
Butler signs with Indy.
Harris signs with Utah.
After the Lakers strike out they trade for AD.
The race for the crown next season has a dozen viable contenders of which the Jazz are one.
Not sure it is because I dont think DL/Jay-Z would ever do it.Maybe, but I find it’s likelihood much higher than a lot of other things we’re discussing.
I’ve started to trend that way only because I sense that they have no qualms about running it back, and not because I don’t think they’d do it. So I guess I’d qualify it: if DL sees this summer as the end of the road, KL becomes the desperation. If DL is the dog in the burning house saying it’s fine, then pretty high likelihood of running it back with Favors + some minor tweaks around the fringes. Not sure it is because I dont think DL/Jay-Z would ever do it.

If you combine his last two years, he’s still 4 games short.I think Exum has broke that 60 game barrier... I think.

That’s not even the top-3 of problems. The problem is that if we trade Exum to get Love, we are really, really short at pg.
It’ll still take luck and growth from players. Sure. That’s the same for everyone. There’s no guarantees.
Lol. What’s plan Z? 5th graders from Europe? No GM has a plan Z.
To be fair we’ve gotten out of the first more than we haven’t.
We were good enough to beat both those teams.
Lol. Don’t get bent out of shape, all he’s arguing is that we are good enough to beat any west team outside the W’s and Rox.
Not bad. Here is an alternative option
Jazz draft luka Samanic
Jazz waive their rights to favors and Rubio
By the grace of the almighty tobias Harris signs in Utah for the max 4 years $140 mil
Jazz trade exum and korver to Miami (maybe a draft pick maybe) for Goran Dragic when he opts into his final year of his contract
Convince sefolosha to come back for the min
Dragic, neto
Mitchell, o,neal, Allen
Ingles, crowder, sefolosha
Harris, samanic, niang
Gobert, bradley

You just did.I’m gonna listen to the Board Idiot, right.
Exum wasn't really swinging for the fences though. He was the consensus bpa and we took the guy who anyone picking 5th would have taken. The problem is that if we trade Exum to get Love, we are really, really short at pg. You have Neto, who we have probably sacrificed along with Rubio for capspace, and nothing. You can say Spida is the point guard, but you would hope he wouldn't play 100% of his minutes there. Moving him puts us thin at the SG as well. You are depending a LOT on Royce.
Now if trading for Love puts us over the cap and gives us the full MLE to spend on Beverly (who we promise the starter role to, which would be the draw for him) we might be in business.
The only thing I am sure of is that the people who say that they would not complain if we swung for the fences and missed are most certainly lying through their teeth. That was what freaking Exum was!

The top 5 in that draft went just exactly as everyone predicted
