I'm gonna reserve the first few posts in this thread cuz im sure sleuthing around i'll find lots of juicy tidbits to add in that should be at the top...

Mike Conley, since his Ohio State days, has been renowned for his dribbling work/ proficiency with the rock.. There's loads of extremely impressive footage.. Stuff I've incorporated into my routines over the years... If your the parent of a baller, or a younger jazzfanzer trying to improve your game, i'd highly recommend checking this stuff out..

JJ Reddick is really quite renowned for his shooting techniques, recently heard Vince Carter crediting him with helping his shot and helping him stick around... The PG's in the NBA are all unbelievable at this sorta drill work but Conley's routines are really top-shelf.. Reddick has a video on shooting and it's great btw, highly recommend it. I actually changed where i was aiming my shot because of his tips and I almost hit 40 3's in a row at one point last summer... I can shoot..

Notice on this footage notice just how strong/developed his right(off) hand is.. Surely i could emulate these drills pretty well but the big flaw will be my right(off)hand, and i'll be compensating with my left, watching conley u can see he's rather balanced.

I do drills like this til this day.. I'm tall enough where in pickup runs ppl wouldnt think that I can dribble (and pass) the way i can, but having that in my pocket, sure is fun. I feast in ISO's cuz of this type of work.. This is what builds your confidence to create..

the importance of these type of drills can't be stated enoguh... CERTAINLY their not just "POINT GUARD DRILLS" anymore... Thats not how it works.

If you want the ball in your hands, you wanna not just be a catch and shoot floor-spacer, these are the type of drills you gotta do....

2:18.... I love that move.... I swear u catch ppl sleeping constantly, its like they think they've got a second to breathe....Those are the crosses i discard defenders with the most tbh.

Doing these sorta drills will help you precisely with chaining a drbble move like that while keeping your head up.

This video isn't specifically about ball-handling but this is a most excellent demonstration of how having a handle expands your game and choices immeasurably.

This is why when you do these drills you wanna be working on keeping your head up, and also controlling the ball further and further down (closer to the ground)... So you dont have to worry about it really, you can focus on the other stuff..

I am proficient with that behind the back speed dribble. I think it took me 10+ years lol. Its a lot of fun to break out around lil kids. My 2 neices can't steal the ball off me still, and its cuz i can dribble behind my back..

THE ABSOLUTE BIGGEST FLAW OF YOUR NORMAL PICKUP GAME BALLER OR hs kID, IS THEY ONLY REALLY DRIBBLE THE BALL WITH confidence with THEIR DOMINANT (91% BEING RIGHT-HANDED) hand...

and then they practice mostly with their dominant hand and only further widen the imbalance.

FOR us lefties --- d'EAARON FOX IS Really the best at this right now, it's very easy to anticipate the 'check-down' dribble back to safety(the right hand) and put your hand there first..

This is why ppl who can't dribble with both hands dont deserve to have the ball... unless it's like rec league for children or something... bad habits...

I'd contend there's way more people on this forum that wanna fight about politics than ones who actually do dribbling drills themselves. Frankly, it's not even close.

This is the difference between basketball people and seasonal, casual fans. The approach to the offseason. For you casuals it's like schools out for summer, for me, it's like the best part of the year....

"Championships are won in the offseason" if ya dont think drillwork like this is part of that saying, well you're probably basing things off of fantasy...

Post a video of yourself doing a dribbling drill or STFU.

Been working on my ball handling skills this summer. Thanks for the vids, I'll definitely check them out!
