My thoughts on Hayward

So you're saying 5 years straight in the conference finals is mediocrity?

I love how youre avoiding the question.

No, but the 3+ years after of being a lottery team is.

The point is they won 1 ring then were done, and kept getting worse for a few-bunch of years.

From 02-03 to 07-08 (6 straight years) they(DET) were either in the Conference Finals or NBA or Won the Finals. Pretty mediocre I guess?

Plus most teams who win championships or are teams that get deep in the playoff have a rebuilding process after. Like the Bulls, Celtics, Lakers... Isn't this common knowledge?

Hey GUYS,,,

Thanks for the welcoming thoughts and prayers. I'll keep that in mind when I check out this board. I don't let the negativity get to me. When it comes to the Jazz, I see a team that tries hard every night and drafted a player that will make shots and get rebounds. Hayward is a guy that puts it all out on the court and can put the ball in the basket every night. Thanks for listening.

Im talking about the teams this decade that won 1 ring, and that was it. All 3 I listed had 4+ seasons from 00-09 of a losing record besides Detroit who only had 3.

My point is. I dont think the FO nor most Jazz fans are willing to have one year where we take it all and have a few sub par/lottery seasons that follows.

Avoiding? Or preferring to not answer an irrelevant question?

Especially since you're making absolutely no sense and going off in all directions. You specify Detroit and then talk about 3+ years of being a lottery team. This year was the first year the Pistons were in the lottery, six years after winning a title. They've been in the lottery one year. I have no idea how to reply to that.

Come on they are clearly not up to the standard of the 76-77 Portland Trailblazers!

Because making all the moves that you believe should happen guarantees the Jazz to be one of those teams instead of one hit playoff wonders like the Warriors, Clippers, and then go back into the rebuilding for the thirtieth time.

Hey, NEW JAZZ FAN HERE! Just came in to say HELLO!

------------------------------

I saw that the Jazz drafted Gordon Hayward and wanted to leave my 2 cents on the subject. From what I read, he seems like a player who can put the ball on the floor and make a few baskets. He shoots the ball pretty well and can defend players. So what I expect him to do is work hard for Jerry Sloan because he won't get on the floor if he doesn't. HAHA! I think our rotation will look like this:

Williams / Price
Matthews
Kirilenko / Hayward
Millsap
Fesenko / Koufos

Hopefully we can sign a bigman and bring in Jeffers from training camp. I'm thinking Haywood would be great. Maybe we can also sign and trade Boozer for some mid-range talent, but a bigman is probably too much to ask. Wide bone marrow isn't easily broken without a hammer or sawblade. What are you guys' thoughts on this? Thanks for listening.

I guess we can keep that state of mind "Hey guys, atleast were better than the warriors and clippers!"

If you wouldve read my post it was during the 00-09 decade.

Ok...where does the 3+ years come in? Heat were in the lottery one year. Two years after their title. Celtics haven't been since their title. Pistons 6 years after their title...

If you're arguing before the title, than you advocate trading Deron Williams for draft picks so we can rebuild to these titles you're guarantee will happen if the Jazz are in the lottery for a few years.

No dumb ***, what im saying, and the question I asked you. The jazz are better than all of the 3 teams listed at the moment.

But in exchange for a championship would you be willing to take the route they did after? Winning 1 ring and not having a chance for another for 5+ years.

Jazz can't afford to do that. They start losing, fans stop coming and with their revenue stream more than a couple of bad years would put them in a deep water.

So what youre saying is basically we should settle with competing for our division and making 1st and 2nd round exits. I love the plan.

But they did have a chance to win one after winning the first one. Boston losing in 7 ring a bell? Detroit losing in 7 ring a bell? Your examples don't match your question.

Yes that's it.

KOC: Hey Greg why don't you spend luxury tax type dollars.
Miller: How do you think we will do?
KOC: Well the goal is 1st round of playoffs
Miller: Sign me up.

You need to understand my point. They didnt win another title.

So your question is, "Would you rather root for a team that won one championship when having a chance for six or a team that didn't win one when having a chance for six?" If so, then it's kind of a wash for me.
