2020 Presidential election

The taxes replace health insurance premiums, and wind up a net positive overall to taxpayer's take-home pay.
Don't forget that a single payer will negotiate better rates. Will likely see a reduction in $300 Tylenol charges from hospitals.

Biden Tells Activist 'You Should Vote For Trump' During Greenwood Town Hall

Lol the Democratic party...

What I found humorous was the chant "not one more deportation". This all or nothing thing is really a problem in politics. The abortion debate is an example. Allow every abortion with zero restrictions or restrict every abortion. Lots of times the best answers are in the middle but no one is interested in that any more. To say no more deportations ever is dumb. In some circumstances it will be necessary and the correct action to take. We have lost the art of the compromise. It's why Congress can't get anything done. It's so incredibly divisive in our country.

None of the Dem candidates look like they're going to beat Trump in 2020. Biden malfunctions nearly every time he opens his mouth. Warren's momentum seems to have cooled. The progressives think she's a fake progressive compared to Bernie, and the moderates think she's still too far left and out of touch. The DNC and corporate media don't look like they'll ever endorse Sanders. Some media are trying to promote Buttigieg as their new darling, but he lacks substance, doesn't seem to appeal minorities, and the progressives won't go near him. Bloomberg would be an interesting candidate, but given the backlash against billionaires, I don't see Democrats embracing him enough to get the nomination.

The problem with the Dems is that the party's identity is split between moderates and progressives. The DNC hopes that hatred towards Trump will be enough to unite the party behind whichever candidate they can muster. Personally, I don't think that will do it.

The only chance the Dems have of beating Trump is going more progressive, which would mobilize more independent voters. But the liberals seem to want Trump to win again, unfortunately.

And the candidates that could unify the grassroots on both sides of the table get shut down.

I think there could have been a play for the Dems where they nominate a more moderate woman as their candidate and then try to mobilize women en masse in a type of battle of the sexes. To do that, however, the candidate would probably have to be Klobuchar at this point, since Kamala isn't cutting it, and she'd be getting a late start.

Going with a more progressive candidate is going to turn off independents more than mobilize them. That's why the DNC is reluctant to go there. The Independents don't typically want HCA, loose immigration and other expensive social programs.

The problem for the Dems is that they'll piss off the progressives when they push out Sanders, like they did in 2016, and those progressives will then be too turned off to mobilize in support of the nominee. This happened to some degree with Hillary.

I don't mean this with any disrespect to you. I mean that honestly.

But I do find it funny reading what conservatives think independents want.

The problem for the GOP is that trump is a non stop dumpster fire.

I find it interesting how @Gameface asking for some help with controlling the trolling has really brought out the trolls. The trolls have confirmed his concerns. I guess trolls have gotta troll.

You are the troll. Know how I know that? Everything you accuse other people doing, that's exactly what you are doing. You are trolling the public with your over the top Trump paranoia. You are essentially screaming fire in a crowded theater. You are doing a disservice to all of us. Please stop.

I wonder what a troll is. An ugly gnome two feet tall with a gnarled face and hunched back? A fisherman in a boat letting a few lines bob in the wake, trying to hook something?

Internet lingo is in a high rate of change all the time. The real meaning is that it is a personal attack to call someone a troll, just as much as it is to deliberately harass others with insults or deliberately provocative trash intended to inflame some person(s) you just want to annoy. Well, but in a troll village, or, say, a nest of vipers.... you can't count on being accepted as one of the cool peeps, by trying to be nice.

The problem here is that there is a nucleus of political crusaders who want to push their crusade more than entertain contrarians.

I am just astonished at the level of intellect which has overtaken the crusaders. I mean, I've had a lifetime of association with intelligent proponents of the United Nations, American and British visions of a better world. Used to be, some really impressive advocacy could be found.

While I've been out in the deserts communing with the cows, my former friends have moved on up in the progressive elite leadership. And their thinking has gone off the cliff somehow.

I am beginning to see that there is no way to haul them back up into the light.

Even trying to wake them up is considered a personal attack.

In regard to the 2020 election, it is believed by some that having billions of dollars to work with is gonna win. George Soros has an organized multi-faceted array of dedicated wonks, and an impressively effective-looking strategy. Bloomberg is going to try to rescue the DNC single-handedly by spending ten times as much as Soros, but he has no organization, and is nutjob himself with his micromanagement ideals about sugar, straws, and everything else.

I have been believing that HRC is planning to swoop in and rescue the wonks from their wonkery, and whip the donkeys into coherent action....

Meanwhile, Trump is actually being the most rational and perceptive person in the race.

I mean, used to be that only 6 Million fake ballots could assure the DNC national success. Now they need 12 Million "sure" votes like that. I mean, if there are any folks out watching for legal practices and fair voting practices, the dems are in the basement. They'll need to rename their party and pretend to be Americans.
