DANTE TRADED TO CAVS

https://www.slcdunk.com/2019/12/24/21036321/nba-utah-jazz-trade-dante-exum

Whether it was Shelvin Mack, Emmanuel Mudiay or Jeff Green, there was always a reason Exum shouldn’t get play time. And media inside and out of the Jazz (sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference) would put out all the excuses of why someone as ineffective as Shelvin Mack would get minutes over Dante.

Hello Tony Jones...
Tony Jones is the worst be far. Knows nothing yet posts like he has inside info which constantly turns false. Dude should just really stop.
And whoever homer wrote this junk should just realize that the only reason Exum did not play more was that he was just really bad at the game of basketball.

Wasn’t Tony Jones full of “this is the team” montage right before the Dante trade happen lol

Hello Tony Jones...
I'm interested to know whether Cavs view him as having potential and giving him significant NBA minutes or whether they were simply going after the asset play.
I think he’s going to get an honest chance there because they need some backcourt size to go with garland and Sexton. The Jazz finally moved on from Exum because it became apparent that He wasn’t going to play. Mudiay had a lot to with that, but it was what it was. Once the Front office realized this wasn’t a temporary thing they moved as quickly as they could

When I said “this is the team” I clearly meant this is the core of the team for the next two years, as in (Conley, Mitchell, Gobert, Bogdanovic, ingles, O’Neale)....of course the front office can color around the margins. But the core of the team is intact and that will remain so for this and next season.

Thank you for the feedback. I think most who read my stuff and see the news I break would disagree with the “knows nothing” part. But thank you for the feedback. Happy holidays

Some here like to be confrontational and pissy - it's their escape for a sucky life. My apologies to you TJ - keep doing the good work that you do.

Much appreciated. I will say that I didn’t think the front office was going to be able to get off Dante’s contract until next year when it became an expiring. But I did know a few weeks ago they were trying. It’s the reason after months of insisting that he wasn’t going to be traded that I wrote a trade primer on December 15 and hinted at a Dante trade being a possibility. I thought his salary number plus the fact that he wasn’t in the rotation would make it difficult to move him. But relationships around the nba matter and the front office has some strong ones around the league. This is the third straight season the jazz have traded with Cleveland

Well Tony I do think we should/will trade Clarkson before deadline for a starting PF just not sure if you'd consider that as an ajustment to the “core of the team”. I hardly see us keeping him past May.

So you think we might add to the core of the team that would remain intact (like Tony said) or do you think we get rid of a core player that Tony listed?

When you bring in another core player like let's say Bobby Portis, of course it would affect the status of our current “core players”. Someone would have to revert back to a lesser role(which could be a good thing given the current workload of our starters) You can only have this many resources for this many "core players".

Which of those core players would be gone or have a diminished role if we got a Bobby portis?
I'm thinking Ed Davis and niang would be effected.
Our current core would still be a part of the new core, IF portis even played a big enough role to be considered a core piece.
