Is Ruby 'really' worth a max?

Someone posted a tweet of the stats when Rudy is on the court vs not on the court against the Rockets are the numbers are concerning. We actually win against the rockets with him OFF the court. That's only 1 team but what if every other team was to play small? Or with MOST bugs shooting 3s now, will Rudy last a max contracts timeline as a traditional center?

He might be worth building around if they would build around him. They've surrounded him with defensive sieves though, so no he's not worth building around like that. They've cooked the Golden goose.

With so many big's being able to shoot outside to pull Rudy away from the rim and Rudy limited offensively I don't think he's worth the max. It limits you too much for what he gives you. Surrounded with the right guys I think he's a star, just not a max star. Right now I think he's frustrated with his teammates and their lack of effort so he's coasting a bit. If he can get his edge back it would certainly help. I would really like to see him get pissed when someone totally blows an assignment on D and just go off on them. Set a tone that defense matters to him.

His teammates are just not that great defensively. Effort can go only so far. The talent just isn't there. So Rudy can call them out once in a while which can help occasionally, but in the long run we don't have the horses to stop good offenses.

I don't think so, even though he is the best defensively, he is really bad further than one ft from the basket.

Hes not giannis. He is very good on the defensive end, but his inability to punish teams inside isnt going to net him

I think we can win without him. We have to trade him though, can't lose him for nothing.
