WTF Rudy?

To be fair, we went on a tear after gobert called out the team about not getting touches, and when he started to be more involved in the offense as a result. I don't blame him for being frustrated at how it almost looks like he is being frozen out. But I do not accept his lack of effort as a result. Talk it out in the locker room. Get everyone into therapy or something, but to just quit on the floor is ****ing unacceptable on any level.

He literally cannot catch a pass. And that is ****ing unacceptable on any level.

Sometimes in a long term relationship one partner feels a little under appreciated... normally she puts out on the reg with no issues but occasionally she wants you to buy her a nice dinner and tell her she's pretty before getting the sex. Our guards need to buy Rudy a steak (pass)… then they can get the sex (defensive monster).

I feel like the Ingles starting thing was in part an admission that Mike and Rudy ain't a great combo... Rudy and Joe help each other get going so let's make sure we don't get in the way of that... then Quin just changes his mind randomly (sarcasm) and we are back to Mike... but lineups and who starts doesn't matter lols lmfao you dumbass couch GM... they have all the data and lineup changes like this happen all the time... you don't know how things work... hardy har har.

One thing I've never seen happen... boss comes down and fires employee... has the hard talk with the guys... tells the other people in the office. Employee goes home to take a nap and gets a call... "hey we decided to fire Bob in HR instead... welcome back!".

DL needs to give an explanation of WTF happened or at least let Quin give some more detail... not fair that Quin has to answer these awkward questions when its clear there was outside interference here.

Sounds like 2007 AK situation all over again. It is hard to find players like Mutombo or Ben Wallace who accept their defensive role and are happy without touching ball much on offense.
Those guys would get token post ups... this is not an uncommon thing amongst big men. I think Ben would get one the first play of the game... Kendrick Perkins too. I don't even think its just for the big guy... it could be a token reminder to the team that you need to appreciate these guys covering your asses all game.

There are a couple glaring times where we missed Rudy last night... one was DM one was Mike. I think he's frustrated and playing defense like he has to is really really hard. I don't think he's intentionally like "I'm not gonna play hard" I think its a frustration thing and leads to him not being as engaged or willing to fight.

Conley is too nice but looked like he wanted to shake his head after zipping a routine pass in the second and watching as Gobert let it squirt through his fingers and out of bounds. Bad idea making Rudy the interior offense and letting Faves walk, he’s always had hands of stone. Sometimes I’m relieved to see Bradley come in cause he can catch any kind of pass and finish without losing the ball.
Rudy goes through these funks with his hands... then he will go stretches where he catches almost everything... to be fair to him he likely wasn't expecting our guards to pass to him... even those his hands were up. Mike wasn't happy on that one.

A small market team with a defensive center was never going anywhere in the modern NBA realistically, unless you doubled down on defense. Then maybe. But we never did. Shame we squandered the magic we seemed to have.

Well who can argue with one game's results. From that sample size I'm guessing we must have lost every game where Conley didn't play.
if it were so simple it would be enough to remove Conley and we would start to win again .. I don't think so, there are structural problems .. meanwhile our 2 stars are good but not great .. that is the first real problem, in fact against the teams with + 500% we are 10-14, I don't think it's just Conley's fault ..

It absolutely is not just Conley fault, however the stats and the eye test are pretty clear that his sub-optimal productivity and the team's inability to effectively incorporate him into the team in any meaningful way at all are huge pieces of the crappy puzzle we are dealing with right now. I think trying to shoe-horn him back into the mix after his injury messed up their mojo and threw a lot off. The current lack of effort and performance across the board is entirely on each and every player who is just sucking, and on Quin for not getting more out of his team and holding people accountable, but we cannot discount the impact trying to pound the square peg of Conley into a round hole is having on the team overall.

It seems like bounce passes are problematic particularly off the pick and roll, zip passes are problematic as well and he also has a tendency to hold the ball down below for long periods where people can steal it away. Truthfully, the only pass to Gobert that I feel confident with is the alley oop, but if he's not getting fed regularly he can go into petulant mode where he refuses to play D. Truthfully, I think he may be the most high-maintenance player on the team.:(
