Excellent Ringer Article on the Jazz

Sad thing is it’s no secret. We’re not athletic enough and lacking in 3 and D which is what we’ve said for years.

Hence why DL and Zanik have to go.

We need a couple more 6’7”-6’9” dudes who are athletic and can hit the 3.

The problem is other teams, like the Clips realized this first. They have their big two AND Batum and Morris.

Not sure how we fix this other than through the draft tbh. Sure we could trade Bogey but does everyone forget how mediocre our offense was a couple years ago? Somebody like Siakam who’s value has gone down would be a great get but we don’t have the assets and large reason we don’t have the assets is because Lindsey and Zanik have pretty mediocre in the draft.

I think the first thing to do would be to create a list of these longer wings in the league. Then work backwards from there. Which of those are completely unattainable? Then who might be at the right price and at what price.

Yep, good article.

We're in a tough spot. There's little flexibility in what we're able to do given our salary/contract situation, so it seems likely that we'll try to re-sign Conley and more or less roll it back. Maybe we look to move Boogie, Favs or Clarkson in the hope of getting more athletic, but like the article points out, teams aren't giving up good 3 and D players. Mitchell, Gobert and probably Quinn aren't going anywhere, so I'm not sure what else we realistically do.

Losses like last night really illustrate how long and largely meaningless the regular season is. 82 damn games to sit through next season before the playoffs roll around and we're faced with exactly the same issues as this postseason. Ugh.

You can't trade Clarkson cause who else will score ?

Yeah, this is well done. On the one hand, I can't believe the Jazz traded back in the draft to pick Azubuike when they should have drafted McDaniels. But on the other hand, I can understand why they did it, because they think rim protection is the greatest thing in the world.

He said what many of us have been hinting at for a while now. He just put it all together in one detailed article.

If Conley bolts, how much cap room do we have? Norman Powell would be on my list of FA’s to possibly target. Assuming he opts out.
