Thoughts on Trading Bogdanvic

I’ve explained why I think NOP would want to trade several times, but also acknowledged why it might not still be possible. You also dodge so much of what I say, ask me to say it again like it wasn’t said, and then don’t have anything to say in return about it. I’m just lucky when you don’t make up the thing I said for me.
I’m still thinking about how we gonna brutalize NOP cuz they cray. Will get back to you soon.... but the salaries here are kinda challenging.... It looks like we’re going to have to send out the better player....?

But you forgot the third transition that already happened.
We were almost exclusively defensive like you said. Then we were almost exclusively offensive (although we were a top 5 defensive team with that roster but whatever). Then we picked up Gay, paschall, whiteside, and butler so we are more balanced.
5-1 and just beat the defending champs at their place.
Happiness for jazz fans all around

Should have been 6-0, what a bunch of losers!

I wouldn't trade Clarkson, he may be a ball hog but he is quick and can pace with the young guns and most importantly he is durable. We are an old and injury prone team, we need to get younger.

Interesting situations developing on other teams right now that could lead to possible trade scenarios for the Jazz. Brandon Clarke, PJ Washington, Larry Nance and Boucher all provide skillsets that could help the Jazz and can't get minutes at the moment.

I like Rui Hachimura for the Jazz. Not sure what I'd trade for him exactly, but the Wizards have a glut of forwards and Rui would give the Jazz some size and offensive versatility. I like his ability to create a mid-range jumper off the dribble and knock it down. He also rebounds and pushes the ball. I guess we'll see what Rudy Gay looks like first.

Was just thinking about this in Doke’s thread the other day that the wizards need centers right now. Gafford is basically made of glass and has never been a long term starter in his career. Harrell is an energy guy off the bench who simply doesn't play good enough defense or set good enough screens to be on the starting unit. If we can sell the idea of Doke to them we may get something nice in return.

Smart signed the extension, but he is not a happy camper....

I watched them a week or so ago and you could see this coming... he was clearly not happy. Not sure if he has a point or is a malcontent... this has happened before.

Can't be traded for a year iirc. Might be an offseason target depending on how our season unfolds.

Memphis has great depth... if Brooks comes back and they are still really healthy they will have some tough decisions. Portland needs to flip Nance and RoCo's minutes... RoCo has been awful... the +- stuff is really telling.

As far as trades that aren't far-fetched Thybulle or Isaac would help solve our perimeter defense issue.

Yes. The only downside is he can't play in a few cities due to the vaccine issue. But he's a very good defender and an even better human being.
What's Orlando's thinking with him? They're looking to move him?

Not sure. It probably helps that he can't play in all games due to the vaccine issue. Orlando is 22nd in scoring - Bogie could help them there; at 16.2 PPG he'd be 2nd on their team in scoring.

Does the year waiting period apply to everyone or just max players? Trade machine says he can be traded in January but that could be correct.

I think he's one of the most likely players in the league to be traded once he can be.

It’s actually 6 months so mid January is correct… checked a couple articles.

I think you’d almost have to trade JC for something and then trade Bogey for Smart to make it work roster wise. Doubt they’d go JC for Smart given their ball sharing issues.

I don’t know what to think about Smart anymore. If he was open to doing whatever it takes to win I’d get him because you could use him at virtually any non-center position… if he’s going to whine about touches and try to be a ball handling guard then we have issues.

Forget trading for Smart and just sign Dunn. It’s not smart to trade for Smart. It’d be dumb when you can just get Dunn.
