I think that was a Jazzfanz generated rumor because it doesn't work. GS has to match salary. I don't think that rumor has any credibility at all. The only way to do it would be Looney/Moody (after 30 days)/EP for Joe... that is a deal I don't even think the most homerific Jazzfan member thinks is fair. It also would end up adding like $25M to the luxury tax for GS. So we can go ahead and just kill that rumor.
I don’t know, and I don’t know **** about these guys, but I do have some questions about Smart’s value and I’m not as high in it as others. More importantly, whether true or not, I think we’ve been traumatized by the DL era of having to pay too much on deals that we expect that. We’re like the dog that comes home from the shelter and cowers like you’re going to beat him at the slightest trigger because that’s the set expectation. I believe @fishonjazz knows something about this. So whereas we would expect DL to be trying to include all our draft picks in deals, we now have someone else who would be saying, “No, **** you. I want two first rounders!”Have you ever watched any of their show? I seriously doubt those two knuckleheads have actual NBA sources. How could we possibly be the ones asking for draft capital in a trade for Smart?

I like Richaun Holmes. I know he doesn't have a natural position in Quin's system, but I just really like him as a player. His energy and athleticism would really put some adrenaline in the Jazz's lineup.
Here are some more tweets from these guys and their "sources"
Would be hilarious if Gobert is traded because he’s the only one really, seriously trying to get the team to play winning basketball.
If the Jazz traded Gobert, they'd be doing it when his value is at an all-time high. But that said, I honestly don't know who they would bring back in a trade. It would be a change in direction.
Throw in Lauri and a few picks and I would be okay with it.i would trade Rudy for Jarret Allen + picks please dont hate me lol

If Quin doesn't know how to adjust and play a different type of basketball, you are 100% correct. If we have to play "funnel to the big", we are screwed if we trade Rudy because he's the best in game at that.not to mention if we traded Rudy we'd start losing a bucket load of games
Gobert is the only one who really wants to play his way as long as he gets his touches and is able to play to his strengths.Would be hilarious if Gobert is traded because he’s the only one really, seriously trying to get the team to play winning basketball.
John Collins. That's who I would target. If Atlanta gave us Collins and another one of their solid rotation pieces (Huerter, Hunter, or Bogdon with picks), I think we adapt to play differently. If the Jazz traded Gobert, they'd be doing it when his value is at an all-time high. The most efficient scorer on the team thinks he should get the basketball sometimes and that his teammates should play any defense. What a bastard.Gobert is the only one who really wants to play his way as long as he gets his touches and is able to play to his strengths.
That might be the reason why so many teammates have checked out.

And the worst defense in the NBA. Would be awesome.John Collins. That's who I would target. If Atlanta gave us Collins and another one of their solid rotation pieces (Huerter, Hunter, or Bogdon with picks), I think we adapt to play differently.
We would probably play a little above .500 while we figure it out, but we would be a nightmare match-up in the playoffs. 5 shooters on the floor with athleticism.
