Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

So Conley and Bogey for LA’s 27 and 29 unprotected 1sts for Westbrook or something? Then we buy that psycho out?
Keep him, let him shoot all the bricks. Then we get the #1 pick.

No one is giving us a 1st for Mike Conley.
Right now... he would be the one I would hold until the deadline as I think his value is lower than it should be and I could see a team giving up a little more if they had an injury Mike was covering for. I think he is the most amenable to being load managed as well.

I really like the idea of Conley and Bogey for Westbrook and picks (or just one).
And sorry to be a broken record but we can add a few more vet pieces and get both picks they can send. We have a lot of leftover rotation pieces and they have great need for rotation pieces. Not sure if Conley is who they’d want… might prefer getting Bev and JC plus Bogey. I’d do that for one of the picks… if they want Vando then they gotta give the other one.

I think BOgey/Conley/Clarkson all probably have more value at the deadline when teams know if they are actually competing or not.

I think this is probably true. It sucks because those guys are good enough to win us quite a few games and hurt our tank.

'No one knows what Vanderbilt might be?

He's got 166 games under his belt. He is not like Draymond Green, at all. He's more of a Rodman archetype. He isnt going to have any crazy skill explosion.

Draymond Green is much more than an undersized 5. He's an offensive hub.
I like rodman too. He got hella rings if I recall. With different rosters i think (bulls, pistons and maybe spurs?)
Regardless of the 166 games. He was 22 years old last year. Im pretty sure he wouldn't be the first 22 year old to improve. Especially since it seems like he has an extremely high work ethic kinda like a dude you love right now (gobert) who sucked when he young also.

I hated it at first but I'm coming around to it. I blame lopo, he made some good points on this. Get Westbrook and buy him out and it gets rid of players and their salaries.

So, regarding the Lakers deal and their picks. If you trade a '29 pick now, how can it be protected? Is that like "top 1-3 protected, if 1-3, does not convey, no compensation"? They can't trade picks in '30 and beyond, after all.
(I'm guessing Lakers _really_ want some protection on those picks)

If they protect it and it falls in the protections you get nothing.

I might give the lightest of protections if I had to… but that’s why you give them so much stuff… it makes those picks a lot more valuable.
