Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Serena can do whatever Serena wants to do, but the big part of the intrigue is being able to watch her last match/tournament. To me it just feels like she's digging down deep wanting to go out on top.
Win or lose, it won’t be her last tournament trust me! Fed’s the same way but I’d be extremely surprised if he could find that magic again. Truth is, Serena hasn’t looked this good in many many years - since before the baby was born.

Seconds are worthless, especially when you have tons and tons of firsts - We already have 3 1sts in next years' draft. With the Mitchell trade we are very likely to collect at least 2 more. You just cannot roster all those players after some point... We can have 5 1sts and 2 seconds next year. There is diminishing return to picks, especially ones that are not premier picks...

Well... I guess we can always sell them for 1-3M a pick....
2nds are of value to facilitate future trades and salary swaps. Not to be completely discounted.

To be fair with this, Memphis was incredibly smart with the periphery of the build in getting the right pieces to fill around Ja and being flexible around it. But they still needed luck to get Ja. Utah can get the right players in place, but we need luck for that core initial piece. Hence getting all the UNps we can and calling it good for this season.
Yes and honestly I think they missed their window to do something awesome this offseason. Windows are tight when you don’t land a top 5 type guy.

RJ, especially now that he signed his extension, is an asset that is worth 1.5 unprotected picks… in a year that number could double… so at very least he’s an asset that could appreciate (opposite is also true) but I think his value has a high floor.

I cannot imagine she isn't already viewed as the greatest female tennis player of all time. And likely among the top 2-3 of all tennis players regardless of gender. I want to see her play Federer, but now that she isn't really at her prime any more it might not be as fun. They should have played an exhibition match a few years ago. Would have been highly entertaining to watch for sure. (I know they had a mixed doubles match, I wanted to see a 1 on 1).

New Hoops Collective podcast out. Didn’t really say much that we didn’t already know. They really like the extension number for RJ. Said if he waited a year he could have gotten a 4-year max. McMahon admitted he was wrong and didn’t think the Jazz would be interested in RJ. All are in agreement that the Knicks have the best possible package to offer which is nothing new.

I am full on in on deep conspiracy theories here based on the narrative being pushed and TJ's info. Here's what I think I think:

- We have basically agreed on the trade.. it has RJ in it. It will be RJ+Toppin 2 unprotected picks and 3 protected picks plus one swap. Fournier and Reddish. The extension was to alleviate our concerns and the deadline was all performative. The timing of the extension and the "deadline" are questionable. Extensions don't normally happen until October unless they are max extensions. The deadline being prior to 9/6 is weird. I think Tony knows the trade (it may not be what I say but I think Tony knows the key parts... I have no info other than what he has said on the public forums to be clear).
- We have a deal with the Lakers to get both unprotected picks. The deal involves Bogey, Beasley, Reddish, and one of the protected 1sts we get from NY (swapping a protected pick for an unprotected pick is smart). I can also see JC or Mike going in the Lakers deal... more likely Mike.
- I think all of this is consummated by next weekend.
- Serena Williams is not retiring.
- Arby's is fine and curly fries are delightful

Would we rather have protected picks or pick swaps from the Knicks? I think the answer is easily pick swaps right?

Hypothetically if we are taking back 23/26/28 unprotected 1sts I’d rather have pick swaps in 25/27 than two protected picks.

There is no conspiracy here - curly fries are the bomb and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

Aren’t we going to be worse than the Knicks? Or just as bad? If that’s the case wouldn’t we want the assets instead?

The protected picks we get will be non-Knicks picks... I think we could get swaps in 25 and maybe 27 with the Minny pick.

In 25/27 who knows. That’s the entire intrigue.
I think no matter how long Utah wants to be bad, let’s not kid our selves. Stripping it down and building with a super young team, winning takes time. Chances are we will be picking before or right around the Knicks in two three years and the Knicks adding Mitchell will help them win more, help Julius Randle as defense focuses more on Don and Brunson, and if we get RJ, that might open things up to get someone else. They will be better. Might be better to have the assets to help with team building.

To be clear we put it in the trade that we can swap their pick with Minnesota’s as well.

I agree with everything except the last point. Arby's is diarrhea on a bun. Might as well save time and pain and just dump it straight in the toilet. Not quite as bad as taco bell but not far off.

Curly fries are ok. Maybe in the top 10 fast food fries, but that isn't a high bar.

I don't think the Wizards are quite out of this yet. If they offered three unprotected, a pick swap or two, Johnny Davis, Kuzma and a salary dump like Barton, I think that's an offer that can compete with NY.

Ok… I really liked you Log… I will not stand for Arby’s slander especially their curly fries

I think the same could be said for a lot of fast foods - if it's fresh, it's on point. But you always run the risk of getting ****** fries at McD's or dried our roast beef at Arby's.

I'm just so happy that this thread has rightfully turned back to discussing fast food just as the title indicates it should be instead of hypothetical Jazz transactions.
