What's new

Woj: Don to the Cavs for Markkanen, Agbaji, Sexton, three unprotected 1sts, two swaps, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Again, I just can’t fathom how teams are throwing around unprotected picks so far in the future. This is not going to end well. Ainge is going to be the sole reason for teams not doing this is the near future. Not sure why teams haven’t learned by now.
I kinda get it. The Wolves and Cavs both think they can go all in now for a title, and if it doesn't work out, they can always trade their own young stars for a haul of future picks.

I’m kind of glad that the Cavs swooped in for a better offer than the Knicks. I really hate the idea of trading our best players to big market teams. Screw that.

We traded our two All Stars to Minnesota and Cleveland. Think about that. And we got a freaking haul for both of them.

We might have to hold our noses to make a deal with the Devil. . . ummm. . . I mean Lakers, but it should be worth It if DA pulls that trigger.

But after that, we need to trade Conley to New Orleans, Sacramento or Orlando.
Conley's gonna be tough until something changes in the market. I think he's a midseason trade at best. If I had to say, he's waived (at $14 million) and stretched (at $4.67 mil for three years) this offseason.

I mean, we have three picks in next year’s draft. That’ll be plenty.

We need to find a way to turn Beasley and Clarkson into 2024 picks. Assuming of course Bogey/Conley are heading to LA.
could bogey/conley turn into 2024 picks from LA?

Knicks are operating like they can be a contender one day when they really just Kings East. Even if this became the Melo era Knicks that would have been a huge jump up from where they have been.

They turned down the first star deal because they were worried they couldn't get the second star... now they have zero stars. I get your point but Knicks galaxy brained themselves pretty hard.

They are also now stuck with Fournier and Randle its late in the summer and I doubt they want to give a pick to move those guys. So Toppin/IQ still not gonna play enough. Maybe Grimes plays more. Its all just a tough look.

You are ruining the vibe. Go hang out on a Knicks forum. It's all dancin' in the moonlight here. You can't dance
If I'm understanding all of this, it is unbelievable the Knicks blew a chance at DM because of disagreement over top 5 protections on one pick.

My post was justifying the trade for the Wolves and Cavs. I am all aboard the lolknicks-wagon.

Say what you will but with Conley, Bogey, Clarkson and the addition of THT, Sexton, and some of these younger guys we do have a partial nucleus of talent just not really a team.

Ironically if we didn't tear it down fully I think we'd have a better record than the Knicks.

anyone else remembers this?

Sexton 3 on 5 when their whole bench got kicked,

Good find. I never knew about that. DIdn't even think it was allowed tbh. I thought a team has to forfeit if they dont have enough players.

That is correct. They were worried about being bad enough in the future for that pick to be in the top-5.
