What's new

Woj: Don to the Cavs for Markkanen, Agbaji, Sexton, three unprotected 1sts, two swaps, and a partridge in a pear tree.

I wasn't saying that Don's efficiency will be better on the Cavs than it was on the Jazz, and I definitely wasn't saying that he didn't have any help or that his supporting cast wasn't good here, I've always argued the exact opposite. All I meant is that I think Don's efficiency next year will be better than Sextons, but Sexton likely averages more ppg than Don. Don will be on a young but very talented Cavs team and Sexton will be on a young rebuilding/tanking Jazz team. Sexton also isn't all that far removed from his ACL injury. I think it just makes sense to expect Don to have a better overall season than Sexton next year.
My misunderstanding.

Regarding the 2026 pick swaps we own.

We essentially will end up with the best pick between our own pick, Minnesota’s and Cleveland’s.

That’s pretty awesome.

So lame that people on here are so preoccupied by the New York Knicks. Getting excited because they don't get Don? Who cares?

These picks look worse than the Wolves picks. Cleveland is very good and very young.

We are like a video game franchise now. Loaded with youth and picks expecting stars to emerge. Very presumptuous. We should have built around Don for a while. Colin is fine and all, but he seems like a Don without star appeal and ruthless playoff dominance potential.

I don't hate this overall. I'm more just disengaged. This makes me lose interest. At least there's no more ruthless, unjustified Don hate.

Maybe I'll get banned for this like I got banned twice before for bogus garbage.

There is plenty of justification… such as his defense, or his offense in clutch time. But hey, your the victim and the sole proprietor of the truth.

But how is it determined who will get the worst pick? This is what's driving me a little wild... there has to be clarifying language and I want to know what it is. If it creates the possibility of a blind/super-swap, then the Jazz should at some point find a way to get any junk 1st they can for that year.

I'm the most excited about Agbaji. Dude looks like he's going to be legit. I'd love to see a starting lineup of Sexton - Beasley - Simone - Agbaji - Kessler

I don’t think we could just trade for a low-end first and swap it. It’s most likely this scenario for example:

We have pick 16

Minnesota has pick 14

Cleveland has pick 12

We would just swap our pick with Cleveland and Minnesota keeps their pick.

Pretty good work by DA. Markannen is a 7 foot shooter. Sexton is a ballhog but useful and The picks!!!

This was a Fxck you Knicks trade by Ainge.

I hope Mitchell becomes the player I initially thought he could be and Cleveland becomes the Beast of the East. As it is, I’d say we won this deal by a fair margin and Ainge is still The Godfather.

That's one hell of a diminishing return.

Good find. I never knew about that. DIdn't even think it was allowed tbh. I thought a team has to forfeit if they dont have enough players.
Rules vary from league to league, I believe. In Europe, at least some time back, you had to have two players on the court, or forfeit. In the NBA you never go below 5, but there's a technical for every foul that would've fouled out more players IIRC. Not sure about college rules.
I played 2 on 5 for ~10 minutes once. Had fun, but we didn't exactly close the gap like Sexton seemed to be doing here.

From our perspective I assume it is pretty straightforward: we have the right to swap with either Min or Cle. We can only swap our own pick (not another pick acquired at a later date). If we trade our pick the swap rights go to the team that acquires our pick.

Im so glad Don was classy enough to keep quiet thru all this otherwise we dont get as big of a haul
Donovan wasn’t classy. Dude just wanted that image protected and knew he played like a careless douche this whole year and playoff series. He acted like a bitch for 2 years. Good ****ing riddance. Enjoy Cleveland douche.

Played a league game once 4 on 5 against a good team… me and another were on fire - think we both had like 5 threes in the first half. We were just chucking too because basically being double teamed… we’re up 10 at half… then our fifth came and we ended up losing… which was kind of hilarious.
