Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Not sure JC is worth a first given he's a half year rental.
Depends on if the team thinks they can retain him I guess. I still think a 20 pt 4 assist guy is likely worth a first even if he's a rental... in the right situation.

He's extension eligible so a team like the Lakers could get some actual certainty if they wanted. Most of the cap space teams are trash... but maybe he'd go somewhere just for the dough.

Guess they should have hired Ainge then. Good damn luck.
The Jazz aren't desperate like Minnesota. If there are no trades that bring value or dramatically boost the team then just go into the draft/Summer and start it up again. I would give up 1st and a 2nd for Collins and a "relatively" good player, but that is it.

This kind of feels like an owner who wants to trim cap and get rid of Collins, with a GM who doesn't want to sell Collins and is listing a high price to still say that he tried and there just wasn't a market. I mean, you ask for double what is reasonable and work from there (unless you are Connelly, then you remove McDaniels, pat yourself on the back, and accept it), but his feels like asking for quadruple.

It sure seems that way. Never been this quiet.

Also Beasley being a top target tells there are not many targets. Albeit he is cap friendly and easy to just plug and play.
Most stuff happens close to the deadline… there are normally a few early deals… I think parity leads to some teams waiting as long as possible to pick a direction.

looking at teams that need shooting guards it comes down to a few teams

Grizzles - Should be a target team as they are in contention and could be contenders. Beasley and Clarkson would be ideal although clarkson's ability to create is prefered. Danny Green is a good addition but he is not as good as clarkson. If they would be willing to part with a first I would be looking here.

Bucks - seem a perfect trade partner as CY pointed out with his trade perposal. They need a solid 2 guard. I mean grayson allen is their starting 2. I dont know what picks are available but i wouldn't be surprised if they have not already had discussions.

Pelicans - They have a lot of pieces I like and they look to be a good team going forward but what they seem to lack is bench scoring and I think this is were beasley would be a good choice. I also think Conley would be a prefect fit here. They should be looking to make a statment and adding to their bench depth would be important.

Suns also need a lot. They started Biyombo, Saric, Craig, Bridges, Washington (Duane) against the Nuggets. CP3 is hardly Mr Reliable at this point and Booker is still out for some time.

Of course.. we all know that. But according to a lot of guys who make a living on trade rumors this has been more quiet than usual. Its not the trades made.. its about the chatter, or lack of it.

I think the four struggling East teams surrounding the play-in bubble mark (Raptors, Bulls, Wizards, Hawks) might be the single biggest reason why its quiet. If one of those 4 suddenly gets on a bad losing streak and falls out of the race.. then that might release a lot of really interesting candidates to the market. Top contenders might be waiting to see how that plays out.

Also us being in the play-in picture doesnt help, since Lakers and Minny dont have their picks so they wont be heavy sellers under any circumstances really.

Haven't really heard the rumor mill guys complaining... I think it may be a little quiet but a lot of teams made their biggest moves this offseason so there are a few situations that need to be addressed but maybe a few less than normal maybe.

Jake Fisher along with few others have mentioned it. Latest post from JF coming an hour ago (read the start).

I remember Lowe, Shamet and Hoopsrumors guys talking about it as well.

So far during this entire season, there has been 1 trade:
Noah Vonley + Cash from BOS to SAS for a protected 2nd round pick

Wasn't denying it per se... just hadn't heard it much. Trade market is a little constipated but again 90% of the in season trades happen right at or around the deadline.
