Dame Time

Lmao you're being a clown then. If loyalty extended beyond the paycheck then Lillard should have a list longer than a single team.
Why… there is no logic there. I love when you get to name calling cuz it means you are out of intelligent arguments.

He gave them 10 years and was willing to stay if they gave him help with some of their assets… they did nothing. He didn’t run from the grind… the grind wore him out and he wants a chance to compete… Portland hasn’t given him that and really haven’t tried or invested anything significant.

Running from the grind is quite literally forcing your way to a team that just made the Finals.

It’s not like he’s saying trade me to a contender so I can compete.

The Jazz are not on the same level as Miami. Dame wants a championship quickly and the Heat are his best option. I assume Same didn't see any immediate hope in Portland and has moved on. The Ja are somewhere between the Blazers and the Heat. It would take some master maneuvering to get the Jazz there quick enough... However...I think Ainge is capable of doing that. We would just need to convince Dame that it is possible.

They made the finals but they aren’t some stacked team… they were a play in team this year… this ain’t KD going to the warriors.

I don't think "loyalty" should be a word used in sports imo.

Both sides should just act in their best self interest and be honest.

If you want to control where you go you should have negotiated a NTC. If you don't, you have to play where you are traded to. If you choose to exercise your influence to impact where you go, you should be criticized.

The NBA should look to curtail these things as much as possible. Giving big market/vacation destination locations more power by having discounted stars on trades is no bueno.

I respect Dame. It is just a choice. He has given us plenty of love. Athletes have their brain and hearts. I don't have that. I also wouldn't be shocked if his thinking a little more complex than that and I am not going to jump up and down if he changes his mind.

Heat were an 8th seed that lost a play-in game to the Hawks. They matched up with the Bucks when Giannis was having injury issues and the Knicks in the 2nd round. They beat the Celtics in 7 games, which was really impressive. They then didn't put up much resistance in the Finals against Denver. You can say Miami is a contender, but they're not necessarily the favorite to come out of the EC, even if they trade for Dame, imo.
