Spot on. AND Clarkson is never afraid of the moment, even after he’s missed seven consecutive shots. Dude has always been money when it matters most.Another game where the ball moved and the extra pass was made. Defense wasnt a sieve either. Maybe its starting to come together?
Clarkson was definitely a more positive force on offense than average because he had a huge contribution to the ball movement. He found a lot of open guys from his drives and even made the extra passes on the perimeter. Didnt hit his shots but otherwise played a great game of good team ball. The last few possessions of hero ball were ugly but if you are running out the clock and then going iso against good PoA defenders you dont usually get good shots. We need some better "go-to" plays at the end if we want to stop
Deron Williams was at the game. Just hire him to help Keyonte. Whatever mistakes he may have made in the past have been mended and he does know how to play PG and run a team.We limited the turnovers, moved the ball, and played hard defense with hustle. That leads to plenty of wins. This was a great one and I think a bigger sign of where the team is heading. We even shot poorly from 3 until the 4th and still had the lead most the game.
Kessler is a huge difference maker on both ends. His defense changes things a lot. On offense he really sets decent screens and gets himself in good position and has length around the rim that we dont have a ton of.
This is the what I expected to see from Fonteccio when we signed him. He is a solid 3 point shooter with a little ability to drive, he is also athletic, and can play defense. He was really lost in rotations last year and the game was too fast at first, but I really thought he would turn it around when he figures things out. He played great defense on their best player Ingram and despite missing early made good decision shots and hustled. I want to see more minutes for him even when Lauri is back.
Clarkson is so frustrating. He plays great at times and just completely stupid at times. I am ready to move on from him even though I like the good times and like him as a person.
Sexton had his ups and downs, but hit some really needed 3s. I did notice multiple times he was open and KO had the ball, looked at Sexton, and then looked around waiting for anyone else to get open. I think we have a bit of a locker room situation that really needs to get resolved before it gets real ugly.
Keyonte had some really great moments and a few dumb ones. I wish he had a better mentor on the team than what we have. It would be great if he had someone like Conley to show him on the court how to run the offense. At times it feels like he is like a QB who is just managing the game. Not a winning QB on his own but one with a good defense and running game he just makes the small plays to just enough to keep the offense going, like Trent Dilfer. Hopefully that keeps changing as time goes on and he gets more comfortable. He is a rookie and playing pretty well for that.
I think our coaches can do a better job than Deron, he has never really coached. A good player doesn't necessarily make a good coach, they are different skills. I like the idea of a player though. When Keyonte makes mistakes and struggles he can watch from the bench what a guy does with the same team and offense on the court. Then he can watch film of the game and see some differences and try to improve that way. But hopefully that can happen without another PG on the team and the coaches doing a good job with him.Deron Williams was at the game. Just hire him to help Keyonte. That's true. But outside of the x's and o's and film sessions etc. there may be some value in talking regularly to a guy who's played your position at a very high level, share some knowledge and experiences from a non-coach perspective. Maybe it's just me liking the idea of Deron getting a bit more involved with the Jazz organization because I like the guy.I think our coaches can do a better job than Deron, he has never really coached. *At home*I maintain that the Jazz with a healthy Walker Kessler not battling through injury are a decent team.
Wb Hook. This time put some email in your PI so you can actually recover your PW.Wow, this team has hope! Also, off- topic note: so I logged out with my account and noticed I never saved the password in Google, nor I Found anything from any of my Gmail addresses, so The Step-Back Hook era is gone. I will from now on post under this name, bc after an hour of searching, I found no way to log into as hook.
And that is exactly why he's so horrible. JC did his best to lose the game. During the last two minutes, with the Jazz up by 7, he had three awful shots. Two of which were "gimme the ball, I'll dribble for 15 secs and then launch something truly bad". JC's final offensive possessions were the only reason why it was that close. The opposite of money.Spot on. AND Clarkson is never afraid of the moment, even after he’s missed seven consecutive shots. Dude has always been money when it matters most.
Maybe Deron can just teach Keyonte his crossover.I think our coaches can do a better job than Deron, he has never really coached. I mean I would have given 9 and a future pick for Trey no problem… no swap or other stuff needed.A few observations...
This was Keyonte and Simones best games as pros. Nice to see. Even though Key still makes REALLY BAD mistakes at times, but he is a competitor and is starting to figure things out.
Walker is a huge difference maker.
The game reminded me we have a plethora of chuckers... Clarkson, THT, to a degree Sexton, Collins, and Samanic eve if he doesn't play. Its fun to watch their play when they pass and set guys up but they all love to shoot too much.
Where are all the Kobe Bufkin fans? I was totuing Jordan Hawkins all through the draft process. That guy moves well off the ball, shoots so pure, and he will be a baller for years to come. Bummed we didn't have a chance at him. How does the 9th pick (Hendricks) for 15th pick (Hawkins) and Trey Murphy III or a future 1st round swap sound now?
Pels need CJ and Trey badly… they don’t suck if they have a few shooters.Another game where the ball moved and the extra pass was made. Defense wasnt a sieve either. Maybe its starting to come together?

My hot take before the season was that Pels are gonna suck even if Zion stays healthy, and while the havent really sucked they havent been great either. Very mid team who can beat any team on a hot day and lose to any team on a cold day. Zion and BI can both create points without much help but they dont feel like they are having a star player impact on the results. Zion is just super invisible on defense.
CJ was absolutely carrying them in few games early season. Its just so weird that a team with wings like BI and Zion needs a guard carrying them...Pels need CJ and Trey badly… they don’t suck if they have a few shooters.
