The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

18.8% from the field holy ****
Funny thing is he was inserted into the starting lineup on tonight's Lakers win.
They must like something about him

While he has some weaknesses defensively too, he's a very active defender with a contagious energy (and of course excellent rebounding).
Vando's main contribution to last season's Jazz was bringing a 100% facilitating mindset to the starting lineup at his position, which, among other things, had a lot to do with Lauri feasting on cuts and backdoors all the time. He also had a good nose for loose balls, which ties into his rebounding.

As a defender he was (and is) overrated, and I've never seen a 6'8'' finisher as bad as him in the NBA.

I believe that Hendricks' floor is to be the player that a lot of people THINK Vando is. Just has to sell out to rebounding.

Warm body with 6 fouls to give?
Sure but hachimura, Austin Reeves, DeAngelo Russell etc seem like they could be warm bodies with 6 fouls to give and start.

Vanderbilt sucks
Exactly. That's why the discussion of him being a starter is going on.
Your contribution was predictably poor
