Trump Dictatorship and All Things Politics

Do our local JF MAGA posters realize they are unpaid Russian trolls? You don’t know it, but you are. I’ve caught you cutting and pasting bot comments from Reddit and Twitter multiple times. You just repost obvious Russian bot posts, are you even aware of this?

At least the farmers get paid, you guys are like cattle to them.

So JF, are our MAGA’s real people or Russian bots? Is there a difference now?

Do you realize you're dumb?

Not taking long….

His failure has followed the usual direction of political overreach. Brave dissidents from the political opposition, corporate America, or his own coalition didn’t suddenly rise to the challenge. It started from the bottom up, as the governed gradually but definitively withdrew their consent, giving space for those we somehow call “leaders” to distance themselves.

This doesn’t mean that the subsequent three years and eleven months will be a garden of earthly delights. Terrible things are going to happen. Good people will be persecuted and bad people elevated pretty much every day for the next 1,400 or so. But when Trump disgracefully walks out of Washington in 2029, I’m far more inclined to believe that we will have a government to return to.

THE THING ABOUT POPULISM IS you have to be popular. The moment you lose touch with the public mood, you lose the ability to set your agenda without friction. I wrote on Valentine’s Day about the big warning sign in consumer sentiment, the unanchored inflation expectations that keep resetting higher. Trump has set himself up as the only person in the government who matters, so every national problem falls on his head. Since he’s done nothing to address those inflation concerns, voters are already starting to assign blame.

Four polls showed measurable drops in his approval rating in the last week, putting him in the lowest position for a president one month after an inauguration since … Donald Trump, in 2017. A Reuters poll found the percentage of the public thinking the country’s on the wrong track rose ten points in a month, and only 32 percent approved of Trump on inflation. His economic approval ratings are lower than at any point in his first term.

When every headline out of Washington is about Elon Musk (who is also increasingly unpopular) firing workers and dismantling agencies and going after DEI programs and taking over IT systems for obscure reasons, it’s no wonder people see the president as focused on the wrong issues. Americans believe Trump has overstepped his authority, but if they were seeing lower prices as a result they probably wouldn’t care, sadly. The disconnect matters more than the lawlessness.

What makes you think they aren't? AfD is the fastest growing political party in Germany, and came in second in voting. The CDU and SPD coalition has labeled AfD as anti-Establishment, too edgy and punk rock for Germany. When the ruling party does something dumb, and they certainly will because government, who do you think will be first in the mind of the Germany people to be Not-the-CDU-SPD-Coalition?

The fourth dimension is time. Checkmate in 3 moves.

He’s correct. I checked that myself. You have been posting tweets from Russian bots…..
Nah, no way!

It's just that PJF and the Russian bots independently came to exact same conclusions given the facts. And they happened to express those conclusions using the exact same words, because great minds and mindless bots think alike.

PJF is an independent thinker, so much so that they need not type out their own posts because there always seems to be tweets that perfectly express their independent thoughts for them.

Oh please. PJF is the firehose of truth.

You went on and on for over a year about how Q-Anon was coming, Q-Anon is coming. Well, where are they? If you are hunting for purveyors of propaganda designed to hurt American interests, an essential tool for you might be a mirror.

The truth is that Zelensky is a dictator. He got into office and cancelled all elections so he couldn't be voted out. The United States has been in many wars over our history, and we never cancelled elections because of them. Pointing out Putin is a dictator doesn't prove Zelensky isn't a dictator as well. Trump is making good his campaign promise to forcefully seek an end to the Ukraine war, and I have no reason not to believe that Zelensky is actively sabotaging those efforts. It is in his personal best interest for the war to continue.

It's funny how trumpers say that zelensky cancelled elections.
It's written in their constitution that elections can't be held while this war is being waged.
trumpers want zelensky to go against his countries constitution.
I guess trumpers figure that constitutions are meant to be ignored so they expect zelensky to act the dictator like trump and Putin would.

This is actually a problem driving some of the miscommunication that allows trump his power, the fact that education regarding our political system and our constitution is woefully inadequate. We don't teach these things the way we really should. Just like driving we rely on parents and, in this case, the media to teach our children. And we can see how that has ****ed up everyone's ability to drive. It's also ****ed up everyone's understanding of civics.

USA have no recent memory even of war on their own grounds so some people not realizing it's implications makes kinda sense. That said, it's almost basic common sense to understand how impossible is to have fair elections in a nation under war.

No. It is not written into their constitution that elections cannot be held while this war is raging. What is written in the Ukrainian Constitution is that martial law suspends elections, and Zelensky has declared martial law which effectively makes him dictator of Ukraine.

While I believe Trump can be petty and I don't take is word on much of anything, I do think Marco Rubio is a straight shooter. Rubio has said Zelensky is a problem. He said that he sat down with Zelensky to plan a way forward for how to end the war, and in those talk the subject of security guarantees was brought up along with investment in their country. Zelensky said that he needed to run the proposals by his legislative branch as we do in the US, and Rubio said great. Then Zelensky went to the Ukrainian legislature announcing how the Americans were demanding a mining deal and he told America to pound sand. Then details were mailed off to the press who ate it up.

Marco Rubio said Zelensky made a lot of it up and Zelensky never told anyone in the US delegation to pound sand. Marco Rubio said Zelensky's actions are making it impossible to work with Ukraine.

Americans have virtually no concept of war. We've never had a foreign war on our own soil, and most people don't count that anyway since it was long enough ago no one can fathom it. And even our understanding of the world wars are tainted by the period of severe prosperity that followed it that many Americans view as the "golden age" when white people ruled supreme and "a Christmas story" was a glimpse of nostalgic Americana. So it's easy to convince them that war is just something we win and just makes things better for all the white people in the long run. So no, the vast majority of Americans have no clue what war really means or how severe the consequences can be.
