Game Thread NBA Draft Lottery - May 12, 2025

Added to Calendar: 05-12-25

Jazz will take whomever is left among Ace, Tre and VJ. They'll kick the tires on Kon, Fears and maybe some other guy, and they'll explore trade options. At the end of the day, it makes sense to take Ace or Tre, then go again next year with another top 5 - 7 pick.
Yeah just trade down. I'd take Kon and Kas over Tre, who's project to be about 2-4 spots ahead. I'd also take a flyer on Murray Boyles.

Why would not want Tre?

I get we are sad cuz no Flagg/Harper, but Tre is 6'6 with a 6'10 wingspan and has elite markers for shooting w/ flashes of playmaking. He's an all-star caliber prospect.

Yea just coincidence that Dallas traded Luka to the Lakers of all teams for only AD then end up with the #1 pick. Yea right. What Andy is doing is damage control. Let see where those ratings go after this **** show.
An exciting player just got sent to one of the biggest TV markets in the NBA. The ratings will improve lmao

Just put it this way: If you were in charge of a $100 billion global media product like the NBA, what would you do? How would you allow league-altering draft prospects to be handed out?

I honestly wouldnt care all that much. Flagg could go anywhere and its going to be good for the NBA. It's not rigged. It's just a stupid system.

Maybe just some anger in the moment, but flattening the odds didnt solve tanking and now we just get more random BS like this.
Thank you for mentioning this.

Flattening the odds is not, has not, and never will be the answer to anything. The answer is creating a system with clear rules that prevents tanking and teams from amassing hoards of top picks. The lottery has objectively failed.

Put it this way: You want to rig the lottery so you invite dozens of independent journalists from all possible media outlets to personally witness the lottery taking place.

And I'm willing to bet very few of you even have the faintest idea how the lottery actually works, and envision some frozen envelopes.
