Following Potential 2026 Draftees

No ceilings comparing Wagler to Derrick White but without defense… doesn’t exactly make me excited.
Yeah, not the sexiest comp and I don't agree with it.

It's hard to say who Wagler is like. Has a chance to be a really unique player

Elite shooter who is also an elite foul drawer and can play PG (and can operate as pass first or scoring), but is 6'6 and hasn't dunked all season.

Austin Reaves probably the best current player I see some of Wagler in, but Reeves was always a score first player and he wasn't nearly this good at 19.

AJ had a pretty good first half against Utah.
19 points on 7 - 12 shooting.

He is just too big and strong. I do have concerns that at the NBA level his size and strength won't be as affective.

He needs to improve his ball handling and especially his shooting.

Of course he will probably continue to get even bigger and stronger as he matures/ages so that should still be an effective strength even in the NBA.

AJ's main talent is his ability to get where he wants on the floor, imo. From there he can make straight-forward plays. I think he'll be fine with NBA spacing. Will Hardy is good at getting guys freed up.

If you think AJ is comfortable being in Utah for 10 years and being the guy here, you probably take AJAJ.
That certainly is a factor that you have to consider. He came to Utah voluntarily and is experiencing this place very differently than guys like Mitchell and Dwill that were shielded immediately. AJ has gotten the college and highschool experience where he is likely making some actual friends from being in class with people and on these teams.
