Jazz-Bulls-GS Trade rumor

Jefferson is not going to get us into the lottery. Not going to happen.

Millsap can for sure. He also wants extension and I don't think we want to give a 27 year old undersized PF a 5 year contract. Especially now that we have Kanter developing.

I agree with all of this.

Millsap is injury prone. Does he play through injuries? Yes but he disappears when he gets injured. We can't pay people based on effort and toughness. His injuries will increase as he gets closer to 30.

Which is exactly why we shouldn't trade him for the 7th pick especially if it's to draft an unproven PG.

Isn't every single player in every single draft unproven?

Didn't we trade a proven player in D-Will for unproven players with Favors & Kanter?

Favors and Kanter were top 3 picks, both stacked with potential. Lillard plays in the Big Sky, haven't seen his passing abilities. Favors and Kanter have potential as high as D-Will and we got BOTH of them.

Millsap for Lillard would be for one player and I'm not sure Lillard can be as productive as Millsap...

Kanter hadn't played a competitive game of basketball for almost two years. He was as much an unknown as anyone in the draft. Kanter looks to be better then expected.

Lillard at least has a recent resume and he has been getting great reviews from everyone that has worked him out. He is much more proven then Kanter ever was last year.

I don't think it's a safe move by any means especially since our problem is Jefferson not Millsap..I don't think anyone can win a championship with Jefferson unless he's the third option on a championship team

I agree with you. Jefferson makes more sense to trade if teams will take him and give us back the same value in return that we would get for Millsap. Jefferson cannot succeed on a team as the primary option. I agree with you that he can be on a championship roster if he is the third scorer and if they have a defensive minded big to pair with him.

Did we see much of Kanter? Did we see even Favors prove he can be a all-star.
It seems we traded D-Will for unproven talent. Potential is unproven.

Lillard is more developed than Kanter or Favors were. If he was a proven passer than he would be a top 3 pick in the draft. People at the 6-10 spot are going to have flaws.

D-Will was the 2nd best PG in the league when we traded him. Millsap is not near that trade value. A lot less. Millsap does not have the value of even a single top 3 pick.

Trust me I like Millsap more than Jefferson. A lot more. I picked that he would be a sleeper in that draft. I was telling everyone that year.

BUT Millsap will be asking for 8-10 Million a year for 4-5 years. He is not worth locking up our cap space when we have Kanter in the wings. KOC knows he is not worth that kind of money. So do we just keep him for 1 year than let him go? or trade him now while he has value for a piece that could be with us for 4-5 years but 1/4 the cost? And maybe we get more than just the 7th pick. In my trade we also get Wright.

Jefferson is going to be asking for the same if not more...Bottom line is I think the Jazz will keep one of them and trade the other which is why I want Jefferson gone.

We won't be signing Jefferson or Millsap to a contract. We are using them for 1 more year before Kanter is ready.

Millsap becomes valuable because he will be restricted and any team that signs him can match any offer. Jefferson helps us for 1 more year for the transition. Millsap has WAY more value because of his contract and he is a better player.

We have to ask ourselves what is more important......
Basing our decision off of who is better to keep for 1 year?
Or
Who brings in more value for next year and beyond?

Agree on not resigning either except Millsap isn't going to be restricted. We've been through that already with Portland signing him to an offer sheet a few years ago.

There are 96 minutes available at the 4/5 and 48 available at the 3. If you can get Millsap at a reasonable amount, you might be better off signing him, and then moving him when the cap requires it. There's no guarantee Kanter or Favors develop into better pros than Millsap.

I have a feeling we are going to have to give him a lot more money then some think. I'm thinking north of 11 million.

3 first round picks and 2 players for Harris. I would do that all day! Biedrens when healthy is a great rebounder, but a liability on offense. I would assume, Utah would try to package one or both of the picks and Jefferson to Houston for their 14th pick in order to draft Marshall.

His problem is effort and commitment. He use to be pretty good, but he got burned out by being on the Warriors and just gave up after he got his big contract.

I look at it as Biedrins getting his big contract and then just getting lazy. He had half a good year and got way overpaid. I don't like that trade at all. If the Jazz are taking on that money then they should be getting the 7th pick.

I don't like that trade at all because of Biedrins contract and poor attitude.
