Kanter will never become the scorer Nowitzki is, but Kanter is a better rebounder in my opinion. Like Kanter Nowitzki had a sub-par rookie season.

Dirk is 7'0 245 lbs and Kanter is 6'11 265 lbs, do not give up on Kanter given the minutes I do think he will have a breakout sophomore season like Nowitzki had. Two different players Dirk is a much better scorer, but Kanter is a much better rebounder. Similar players otherwise and Kanter does have a decent jumpshot and is a pretty good free-throw shooter for being a big man.

Yes, players can have underwhelming rookie seasons and still develop into very good pros.
No, Kanter vs. Dirk is not a valid comparison just because they both put up big numbers in a HS all-star game. Those comparisons were crazy before the draft and they're even crazier now.

I still think Kanter is going to be really good. He has all the individual skills, it just has to come together for him. I think it will, he seems like a good kid with a good work ethic.
