If it were Burks or Hayward instead of Kanter, I would do it.

The perfect for me would be Jefferson with either Burks or Hayward for Perkins and Harden.

Given that Ibaka is so defensive oriented with an improving face-up game and Perkins has no offensive game whatsoever, I would think that OKC might want Jefferson instead of Millsap. Jefferson would give them post offense that they don't have and Ibaka's defense would make up for Jefferson's lack of defense. They would make for a balanced front court.

I'm honestly surprised to see people saying this, I thought all the Kanter love had faded. Good to see I'm not the only one who is still high on him.

What if we did the Al-Noah trade and Harden-Millsap (+ our 1st if necessary)?

Mo-Tinsley-Watson
Hayward-Burks-Foye
Harden-Marvin-Carroll
Favors-Evans
Noah-Kanter

Does this sound like something you might be interested in?

We'd be a bit thin up front. Late December, we could throw Foye into the trade rather than our 1st. We could/should look for a 3rd/4th big back too.

I think this gives us a huge glut on wings and No O on the front line. Beastly D though at the rim.

I think everyone is massively underestimating what Favors can do offensively. He scored, what, 17 a game last year when he started, at the age of 20, with no offensive moves?

I believe most of us here think that he'll be for sure a MAX guy and the future of the franchise. Yup, we underestimate him.

Agree, not to mention our perimeter offense should improve, making it a lot easier for Favors inside since teams can't just pack it inside so much

Go through all the threads and look at how many people think trading Jefferson would be a suspect move based on how raw Favors is offensively and then come talk to me you hack.

Which is why I think we need to trade Al regardless of Favors inexperience. We traded the best pg in the league for Favors. He needs to take the next leap, and I'm not sure he can do that with Al on the team. This is coming from someone who likes Al

Well, you said "everyone" ))

Look how many people want Noah alongside Favors (if he hasn't such a bad contract). And Noah doesn't have any offense.

I am surprised the poll was so...

Except for the advanced metrics, Ginobili's stats have never blown anyone's socks off. Statwise, I'm thoroughly impressed Harden has put up his numbers on a team with Durant and Westbrook, which suspiciously looks like Ginobili putting up his numbers with Parker and Duncan when he came into the league.

The difference is Harden is putting up Ginobili numbers at a much younger age. His skillset is basically identical -- he can shoot, drive, pass, and take over the offense when needed. Separated from OKC's studs, I think it's crazy not to imagine his floor is Brandon Roy. And Brandon Roy with good knees is a Top 10 player in the game just like Harden is.

Practically speaking, a Harden deal is complicated by the fact that he needs to resign before you give up the store. But there's no question in my mind he's a MAX player.

Excellent post.

How about this team?

Noah
Favors
Hayward
Burks
Harden

Trade anything to make it happen

This is how it works....

Harden runs the point on offense , and Hayward guards the point on defense. Burks and Harden guard who they best matchup with.

What do you think? Stupid?

Long shot?

I think most here overestimate Haywards ability to guard, gulp, a PG. Otherwise, I don't hate that team.

It doesn't seem plausible because of his height and he is white, but from what I have seen, he has done a pretty good job on some good points. Like CP3, and Parker. He's not the glove, but he does better than anything thing we have. I also like the idea of creating matchup problems and forcing others to adjust.

It might be that it appears to be something there and there really isn't. I'm just curious a little, and apparently so is Corbin. He is the one trying it.

What I see is Hayward being able to move his feet well and stay in front of guys. He seems to do better against smaller guys too. He also has good timing and technique when attempting to contest shots. He uses every bit of his length, and is deceivingly more athletic than anyone ever thought he would be. I expected an offensive type of guy, but I am more impressed with his defense.

Go check out Eric Gordon's numbers against Hayward last year and see if you still believe he can guard a PG.

Almost everyone in the league has some sort of problem guarding everyone they come across.

You saying he isn't a good defender?
