What's new

Pre-season Game 1: Utah Jazz vs. GS Warriors, Mon Oct. 8th 830 MT

Pretty solid game for a first game back.

Kanter seemed to have had a good game. Favors, Burks, and especially Hayward being the bigger disappointments. Murphy getting no burn at all bugged me.

Whatever, I just think it's super lame to piss on a 20-year old after having a GOOD game.

Tomayto/Tomahto. He blew out your predictions on his ability for the season in the season opener last year. And you said nothing in your correction to dispel the notion that you're essentially rooting against him so that you look less like a fool.

BTW, your boy blew against the same defense.

The only one looking like a fool is you. I've never, not even one time, ever said I didn't think Kanter had a world of potential. All my posts have said the same thing -- kid's 19, he's ahead of the curve, no telling what the ceiling is.

FWIW, I've said year 3. I said rebounding will be immediate and scoring comes as the team and Enes are comfortable (3). 15/12

If memory serves me right, you consistently undersold Kanter last year.

You've also consistently overhyped Al.

Now, Hayward is near his ceiling.

so it looks like i was one of the few who watched it on league pass. but from what i saw, kanter is moving extremely well. he got out to set quick high screens and freed up our guards well. jazz went to him down the stretch and he got to his moves quickly. he made passes out of the post when he recognized he didn't have anything. he was getting to the rim but missed some easy ones. but that will come imo. the last one he missed may have been goaltending as someone went through the net. another he missed after bumbling a less than perfect pass from tinsley. and he hit a long range shot that looked really good going down. not the quickest release, but i think it can be a weapon.

the biggest thing that stood out though with kanter this game was mobility and confidence. if his mental game catches up.... very excited about him. of course i have loved him since watching the Turkish national team last year, so im a homer.

i wont comment on the rest of the young guys because they didn't stand out. Favors had better moments in the second half. I just wish we had a pg who could unleash him on the PnR

OK I'm back. Had a great time. Kanter looked a little lost early on actually but by the end he was abusing the Warrior's rookie center Festus Ezeli. Ezeli looked great himself for a rookie but he couldn't handle Kanter in iso. Enes didn't appear to have the same ability to move players like he did. He seemed to have trouble moving Carl Landry, who looked of similar size. Enes did show off a lot of moves on the right block. He looked to be doing whatever he wanted by the second half.

Harrison Barnes is a player. He is so smooth and in control at all times. His first play was a vicious dunk. The Warriors play was fairly smooth and cohesive on both ends of the floor. Klay had a smooth stroke, the team looks pretty good. On the Jazz Mo Williams was looking to push the ball in transition quite a bit, and I already like him as a fit better than whats-his-name. Marvin had some athletic dunks but was kind of quiet. Same with Favors, who didn't like the contact he was getting in the first half. The second half calmed things down a bit and Favors worked better in a slowed down half court offense. I have some pics and vids maybe to put up in a bit.

Here's me and my daughter at the game. I'll have an Enes video highlight in a little while.

It's hopelessly out of focus which sufficiently masks her identity I guess.
