You always seem to know what your talking about. And you're right, the stats look good. But I'm genuinely curious, why do you think we also go on a run every time Al comes out of the game? And why is his +/- always so brutal?
well for instance tonight his +/- was totally **** on by the starting guards. i know it just looks like a bad game by them, but when our guards play THAT bad it puts even more of an onus on the bigs and the opposition knows it.
there is certainly a palpable feel of a momentum shift everytime the first big lineup switch happens. ive been watching.
al is not a great attrition player, he doesnt give you that feel like the team is better when hes on the court. what he provides is something that is at a great premium in this league, an iso 5 who can hold his ground on both ends, his awareness is vastly superior on offense. but if you look at his resume, its always been this way.
heres the sell on jefferson, hes a vacuum player. but he can kill you with the jumper, and he has a massive amount of tricks. he has lateral quickness with the ball in his hands, because he is a masterful hesitation player on offense. he can also make last second adjustments for all sorts of different angled layups and reverses, while maintaining high level touch on the ball, this is why no matter what you say, with his resume, this is, WORST case, a 10mil player in this league, its ludicrous to think otherwise, 5 is a specialized position.
people here are hating on al's skillset, not his effectiveness within it.
the silliest thing about these al haters is, for instance (i know you guys are gonna hate this) if you had to guard al, he could back you down, or shoot over you. but i bet hed fake you out of your shoes and spin around you for a wide open layup.
