Jazz (31-26) vs Hawks (32-23) @EnergySolutionsArena 2/27/13 @7 PM-MT

exactly i dont ususally blame ty, but this starting guard lineup of Foye and Watson has gotta go. just doesnt provide enough penetration for us to play our game.

Al was 8-10 in the first half, took a 70 footer a the end of the 2nd quarter. he must have had 5 shot attempts where the offense totally failed and he had to improvise something with 2 seconds on the clock.

you guys are ruthless. Thats a good team we just played!!!!!!

look at the box score and player stats

Teague, Smith and Horford are ballers, were starting 3 bench players, marvin, foye and earl, chill bros

You always seem to know what your talking about. And you're right, the stats look good. But I'm genuinely curious, why do you think we also go on a run every time Al comes out of the game? And why is his +/- always so brutal?

at somepoint in the near future i see favors in the 17/11 range with kanter in the 20/11 range. i dont think we are that far off from those days(id say 2-3 years).

he did have a few mental lapses, but spectacular blocks and hes really starting to get confidence in his offense.

he wasent able to stop horford or smith, whatsoever.

Yep. Like most things in life, that should come in time through experience, and in turn, confidence. He knows he can be a defensive force. He just needs to get the minutes and feel for the game again to bring that back out of him.

why aint you tlaking about his mentality?
his defense.
his lack of fire.
his lack of heart

his defense is sub-par, its not the liability you guys have made it out to be. you talk like hes a mid-level player but we pay him 13mil. Al Has fire and heart, hes closed more games then anyone on our squad this year, right?

yet again you avoid my initial inquiry.

if al is so bad, why are other nba coaches(who get paid lots) sending a double team his way. is he not worthy of a double team?

his defense is non exesitent basketball aint about scoring 20 points on 20 shots and take 10 rebounds (at center) playing 26 minutes.

there is more to basketball than that

Btw Watsons used up all his good equity, **** that guy, large reason we lost.

Also it's not necessarily his fault, what is Corbin doing playing him so long

because as you already stated, we start three bench guys in marvin, foye and watson out there whose numbers greatly favor the other team. doubling al is a no brainer because these guys aren't hitting ****, outside of foye every third or fourth game.

I would be curious to see which team would grab Al if we decide to get rid of him!

i have a betting proficiency of about 65% on all nba games, over the course of many many years. closer to 70% in CBB. if youd like to question my basketball knowledge id suggust making an alfense grief thread, i will tear it to shreds.

you make no mention of him being double teamed.

if you were an opposing coach would you single team al because hes so pathetic...? (then why arent nba coaches doing that?..... DURRRRRRRRP)

Maybe in your mind you tear it apart but you make arguments the way David Locke does so there's no arguing with you.

well for instance tonight his +/- was totally **** on by the starting guards. i know it just looks like a bad game by them, but when our guards play THAT bad it puts even more of an onus on the bigs and the opposition knows it.

there is certainly a palpable feel of a momentum shift everytime the first big lineup switch happens. ive been watching.

al is not a great attrition player, he doesnt give you that feel like the team is better when hes on the court. what he provides is something that is at a great premium in this league, an iso 5 who can hold his ground on both ends, his awareness is vastly superior on offense. but if you look at his resume, its always been this way.

heres the sell on jefferson, hes a vacuum player. but he can kill you with the jumper, and he has a massive amount of tricks. he has lateral quickness with the ball in his hands, because he is a masterful hesitation player on offense. he can also make last second adjustments for all sorts of different angled layups and reverses, while maintaining high level touch on the ball, this is why no matter what you say, with his resume, this is, WORST case, a 10mil player in this league, its ludicrous to think otherwise, 5 is a specialized position.

people here are hating on al's skillset, not his effectiveness within it.

the silliest thing about these al haters is, for instance (i know you guys are gonna hate this) if you had to guard al, he could back you down, or shoot over you. but i bet hed fake you out of your shoes and spin around you for a wide open layup.

Jefferson attended Prentiss High School in Prentiss, Mississippi from 2000–2004. In his senior year for the Bulldogs he averaged 42.6 points, 18 rebounds, and 7 blocks per game.

i have been paying attention to hs basketball for a long time. ive still yet to see crazier stats, so yeah unless someone debunks why you shouldent double team al thing. im gonna defend him, hes at-worst playing @ market-value
