Some of these CP and Burke highlights look almost identical to me. Chris Paul rarely seems to be moving at full speed though. It's like he's dancing and holding back a bit so that he can change direction on a dime. I think Burke can play just as fast, definitely NBA speed, but CP is craftier and more dynamic at that speed. Of course, this was out of college. CP has lost a lot of that quickness with his knee issues.

May be it's the way they play. Like PGgod_Burks was saying, CP3 has an array of "blow by" moves, whereas Burke is more of a "probing" player.

The "blow by" moves though does help set up that mid range game CP3 is known for and is unstoppable even today... I wonder if Burke can develop something similar in the NBA... (might be too late though).

McCollum is obviously a scorer at Lehigh, but he looks skilled enough to be a good PG. I think he can do a lot of the things that DWill did, and he's lighter on his feet than DWill. The only question is court vision and being a floor general. That's a unique skill.

I think with NBA spacing and screening, Burke can do a lot. He has a pull-up jumper, a cross-over, and a floater in the lane. If both Burke and Burks were playing together at full speed, that would be pretty exciting and virtually impossible to guard.

Yeah you're probably right about him not being your traditional point guard, but Burke just looks meh to me. I'd go with the best player and McCollum just looks like a better overall player to me. Plus in today's NBA it seems like scoring pg/combo guards are supplanting traditional pg's because there are like what? Five in the whole league?

Problem with picking McCollum is do we start him at PG? Or do we need another PG to handle the rock? If we're drafting him to play SG, then no thanks as we already have Burks & Hayward for that... 3's a crowd.

McCollum is not big or quick enough to guard SGs at the NBA level. He has to play PG, and the Jazz would have to groom him to be a full-time PG. The question then becomes whether he can stay in front of quicker PGs. I think Burks or Hayward may have to take the tougher defensive assignment some nights.

There's no doubt you're picking a scoring guard with McCollum over Burke, but I just think McCollum is a better overall player than Burke so I'd pull the trigger on McCollum if the choice were mine.

I wonder if that's the reason we missed out on CP3 actually...

The only reason the Pacers are doing so well is because of their length. They are really tough to score on because they are all big for their position (I guess West isn't but it still seems like a good model)

I have MCW easily in my top 10, ive said he wont get past the kings/pistons.

if we can nab MCW in the 12-14 range thats a bargain. i like it, plus he flashes inside of 2minutes, very good sign.

Gut tells me we have no chance at him, will have to pay a premium. i do not forsee any scenario where the jazz pick is 12-14 though, i think were gonna be close to 20

I'm having a hard time buying into Carter-Williams. He's like not really a PG and not really a SG. Plus he's not really a great shooter. Some of what I saw in those highlights actually reminded me of Tony Wroten. He's not that bad, obviously, but I'm not sure what he is.

That was a big part of the Bull's perimeter defense during their championship runs. You had Ron Harper, Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen guarding the perimeter. McCollum isn't an elite defensive player though. Defensively, you could do better with BJ Young.

I'm always hesitant to pick a guard who can't shoot... makes you wonder how long he can really play in the league?
