Following potential 2013 draftees

On a semi-related note, Josh Selby just got waived by Cleveland. Surely he's better than Earl Watson.

This is what he looked like playing in the D-League...

I would absolutely bring him in!

Noel is better on defense and intangibles. Drummond better scorer and rebounder.
I'd rather have Drummond, but there's still a huge question mark on his desire.

Yep. Though, any big in the NBA will be able to back down Noel...meaning he'll have defensive weaknesses, not just offensive ones. That dude needs to put on muscle fast.

********. I've called it like I see it every year. People may generally do that, but I refuse to be lumped in.

Kind of strange you say that you're a regular fixture of the draft threads.

And I pretty much avoid all HS talk.

Doesn't he project as a higher-motor + better rebounded than DJ?

I'm not watching enough cbb to know.

Not really too sure.

DeAndre had a pretty similar role on A&M to Stein (pre-Noel injury) and they put up similar numbers. Both seem to be fairly similar physical build and athletically. Both can't hit a FT to save their live.

That's cool, Cy. I get a little bent when I do follow, extensively, and people who don't make ill-informed and overly generalized statements.
I'm not trying to be an authority on anything, I just enjoy it and its become almost a tradition.

I, for the most part, respect your HS talk because you actually watch them and not just highlight reels. I feel like most people just do the latter, then that results in a giant hype machine.

You've been lumped! Nothing I can do about it, you'll have to speak to the lumping department. Maybe you can catch them before everything's been processed.

I can't figure out why Selby hasnt stuck yet. He seems like an Allstar caliber player. Remember the summer league? He tore it up. He can shoot lights out. He has crazy athleticism. I don't get it. Must be a dumb *** I guess.

Same. Something happened at Kansas but I don't know what ... he got zero time compared to talent (sound familiar?).
I was asking to snag him in the draft because he fell like a rock. Hes better than Kabongo.
Would love to see Jazz work him out ... and then find a place for him on the bench.

All-Star maybe, but I see no chance of him becoming a superstar (#1 guy on a title contender). He's overrated on both ends of the floor, imo. Only 8% of his offense comes from iso situations (where he never converts), and he's terrible in iso defensive situations which will be more of a problem at the NBA level, not just because the guys he'll be defending are better, but also because you have to play man-to-man a lot more in the pro's than in college ball. On both ends of the floor, he's an awful one-on-one guy.

I agree with this. I still think All-Star is worthy of a top-3 pick in this draft, though. He could still average 20+ ppg in that role a la Ray Allen. He's doing it at KU right now without dominating the ball. His efficiency as a scorer is incredibly impressive. Yesterday's performance was McLemore at his finest.

People forget how good Ray Allen was. He could create his own shot.

I project him to have a higher motor, better athlete, far better scorer.. I don't yet have a great feel for his defense. Hes getting good blocks but I'm not ready to project what level of rim protector he'll be.

I think he's a guy who could really dominate like Anthony Davis if WCS decides to go back to college next year... I mean he only started playing bball like what, 3 years ago? And he's already like at this level? He could be like a Cousins with his head screwed on.

Except Cousins is a total bruiser and non-athlete. WCS is the opposite.. more finesse even though he has a great frame.

I thought Cousins was the better player coming out of college then Favors was and I still believe that. WCS is my favorite player in this years draft no doubt, it would be amazing if the Jazz let Big Al and Millsap walk and drafted WCS.

That's what I mean, WCS is more athletic/big/stronger than Davis, and he seems to have more finesse than Cousins.

If he develops properly he could "potentially" be better than both of those guys.
