Calling all parents....

If we bought the cat, dog, fish and rats for my daughter's enjoyment, how come I, as the father, am always the one stuck with cleaning the cage, bowl, litter box and backyard?

because that's what dads do.

Because those are the non-enjoyable aspects of pet ownership and it would be detrimental to your daughter's joy to make her do those things.
