don't remind me. I have taxes to do, and at least three other crises to deal with. And yeah I need to plant a field. I also have to be here today. Needing some moment of distraction. . . .

I can't remember the last time I bought a can of Campbell's Tomato Soup

Does anyone remember that recipe for something (maybe sloppy joes or meatballs) that called for a can of tomato soup, a bottle of Heinz 57 Chili Sauce and a jar of currant jelly - or something like that? Haven't had it in decades. I remember there was a guy I dated in college who made it all the time and i was so impressed that he could cook! And all he did was open three jars, throw the stuff into a pot and stir.

I don't know that recipe.. but I still buy Campbell's Tomato Soup. On a cool day nothing like a grilled cheese sammich dipped in tomato soup. Yum.

agree, though I prefer to heat up some low-sodium V8 rather than the Campbell's soup - it's healthier and easier since you just pour and heat, plus you don't need a can opener

That really answers a lot of questions for me. I thought I knew you from somewhere, but what with all the chicks I dated, and how long ago, I forget somethings. Like actually heating my "cooking" pot after opening the cans and dumping the stuff in. Usually I am too tired to wait for it to warm up, or stir it. I just eat it straight from the can sometimes.

Yes indeed. I so glad I now have a wife who knows how to do that recipe. I would just gnaw on a hunk of cheese...... and well, maybe open a can of soup and just go whole hog on it.

V8 juice is probably the healthiest food you can buy and just drink straight from the can. That added advantage of not needing a can opener makes it perfect for college kids.
