NBA Draft Lottery

Randy Rigby is representing the Jazz.
How lucky is Randy?

He's on the green, now he just needs to sink the putt. He's going to keep his eye on the ball. He's going to work hard. He's going to give 110%. He's going to win as a team and lose as a team. There is no I in Rigby... er.. What's gonna work? Team work! What's gonna work? Team work!

Getting a top three pick this year would be a disaster.

No kidding. We should hang on to that #14 until people start getting desperate and throwing in assets to unload their high lottery picks.

Man, the problem with picking number one, is that there is no clear cut guy. I think it would be easier to pick third than first. I keep looking at the prospects, but I just can't decide who I would pick first.
I could see Noel and McLemore going 1-2, but I don't really want to pick those guys. My next three in order would be Porter, Burke and Oladipo. But I have questions about those dudes too.

This is why I won't be disappointed at all if the Jazz stay at #14, which is why they will probably get a top 3 pick.

Oof, if the jazz land in the top3, then I might have to turn in my fan card. At the very least, I'll de-laminate it and let it fray. Too many god damn conundrums.

Yeah, me too. I would be confused at all the trade talk and the prospect of getting a better pick than at 14. Man, winning the lottery would be the worst thing that could happen to this team...better just play it safe, and withdraw from the lottery.

We've discussed this ad nauseam.. but this is just ridiculous and I sincerely hope you guys aren't serious.

Sure, it would be a tough choice between some yawners.. but a top 3 pick is a great asset. I would hope we would trade it and move down to pick up someone like Schroder while picking up a mid-first for next year. But to wholesale wish against getting a top 3 is downright terrible. I was giving everyone the benefit of the doubt and trying to take all this in context... but I'm beginning to think there are actually people here that would prefer #14 over #1-3.

b-line is at least one voice of reason here..

I just realized what's going to happen tonight. The Bobcats will FINALLY win the lottery...when there isn't anyone worth a #1 pick.

I actually like the position we are in. The top 14 is like lookin at a 8 year old youth team... they all have problems and some can even make layups...

The only and I really do mean ONLY downside to winning a top 3 pick is that you might have to pay the guy a little bit more on his rookie contract. And with the Jazz's financial flexibilty even that is a small downside.

For those who think a top three pick would somehow undermine a planned tank job, to get Wiggins/Parker remember Ty Corbin is still the coach. Believe.
