Will the Jazz ever retire the #47 jersey of Kirilenko?

The Cavs just retired Zydrunas Ilgauskas' jersey....I'm wondering if the Jazz will ever make the same with the jersey number 47 when Kirilenko will retire from basketball, he is having a similar career as Ilgauskas in the Nba.

AK spent 10 seasons in Utah and he has been arguably the Jazz icon after the Stockton & Malone era, giving to the franchise a good image.

Although he was being overpaid and didn't quite fulfill expectations, I think he would deserve this recognition in future.
I think most Jazz fans, me included, still love him!

LMAO. They should not.
.
But this is the Jazz and frankly there are a few Jersey's up there that don't belong. So it won't surprise me.

The icon after Stock/Malone was D-Will. After that it was probably Okur.

Better question is if Okur will get his jersey retired. That is actually a conversation to be had.

The jazz will retire anything... Numbers for owners and coaches... Retiring a softball number is stupid. Naming the court after the owner is stupid as well. I believe Larry should be honored, I just think there are more creative ways to do it, other than an honor generally reserved for coaches. It should most def be Jerry Sloan court and some of those jerseys don't belong. I'm surprised ostertag has not had his jersey retired here.

Hardly dumb ... but because of the bad feelings that were created at times with Jerry, I think not. And DWill, definitely not. The Jazz traded him to get rid of him. Okur was the all-around good guy and though not as good as DWill or AK, he might be a possibility.

I would doubt there is anyone under consideration for a jersey retirement at this point. If there is one person I think they could honor it would be Phil Johnson and that won't be a jersey.

Okur was way more important to Utah.

God!!! This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You do know that the only reason utah has a team is because of LHM right?!?! Show some god-damn respect!!

I CANNOT wait until I can neg you again.

Saw the title and then saw the author and knew this would be a peach of a thread.

Cavs retired Ilgauskas' jersey because he was a) LeBron's closest friend and mentor when LBJ was in Cleveland; b) they purposely scheduled the ceremony when the Heat had a couple of days off; c) they're going after James HARD this off-season (if he opts out); d) this allows them to tamper and chat with LeBron without tampering.

If by good image you mean perhaps one of the BIGGEST disappointments in the NBA, then yes. AK was on his way to becoming a top-5 player in the NBA when he signed his MAX deal. He was a unique talent. Could have..SHOULD HAVE...gone on to be a HOF'er. But he simply QUIT working on his game. It was laughable when he would report gaining muscle or working on his shooting during the summer and come back as nearly skinny as when he left for the summer and then shoot bricks in training camp.

I think you are in the minority with your love. We loved the AK of the early decade; we hated the whiny, poor-shooting version he became.

AK will NEVER have his number retired.

Oh ya! You're dumb and disrespectful... God-damn, geeze, shucks...
The Millers can do whatever they want, you're right. It's just unfortunate they do stupid things. Like honoring the coaches and owner in strange ways. He already has a business named after him, I would hope he has some charity organizations that use his name, and scholarships. Maybe other things... Name part of the ESA after him. In my opinion the court should belong to Sloan, it is an honor for coaches, not a freakin owner. Is it just an excuse to advertise on the court?
I would think they would put more thought into honoring Larry than to advertise his name, and retire a softball number.
