Free Agent Rumors Thread

The dude Brian Roberts who shot lke 97% ft's last year for the Pelicans is fairly interesting at a low price.

I like Roberts and was surprised that they renounced their rights...

Like PJ Tucker took a detour through Bamberg and was an integral part of a huge season before reappearing on the radar of NBA teams. High motor, good kid.

Lance Stephenson turned down a 5 year/ 44 million dollar offer from the Pacers, and apparently their not close on terms.

Damn.

Someones gonna give Hayward the max.
The average annual salary in a 4-year max (other team) contract for Hayward is about $16mm. Do you really think Hayward is worth $7mm+ per year more than Lance? I'd rather have Lance at 9 than Hayward at 16. Hell, I'd rather have Lance at 9 than Hayward at 12 for the physical/defensive upgrade alone.

I predict Hayward gets 65 mil over 5 years. A lot of people love him, but he is not a max guy.

You might be right and that's very scary. Hayward has always struck me mentally fragile - he's always been slow to adapt to new situations. I think that type of money/pressure may result in him coming out next season and playing the worst basketball of his career. Wherever he ends up, I hope it isn't a big market team. It may kill the kid.

I think the next Ariza will be Maurice Harkless on the Orlando Magic. Only played 24 minutes per game last year but shot 38% from the 3. long and athletic like Ariza. Good defender. and gets lots of steals. They are pretty much the same player lol Except Maurice Harkless is 21.
It would be a risk but I would trade Hayward to the Cavs and have the Cavs send Orlando Anthony Bennett and we get Maurice Harkless and maybe some draft picks or something.
I am very high on this guy.
I like Hood too. but we need somebody else to play play SF also. Share the time and see who comes out on top.

Can anyone confirm if this is accurate? I know nothing about Mo.

I agree but the problem is if we say yes to Lance, we're saying no to Burks.

Not sure I want Hayward to be offered 5 years. Each team can only have one 5-yr player. Well, technically they can have two, but the other has to be acquired via trade. Better to match a 4-yr deal for Gordon and keep the 5-yr slot open.

How so? Lance can defend the 3 better than Gordo. If the Jazz can sign Lance outright, and use Gordo+ in a S&T to upgrade elsewhere, it's a no-brainer IMO.

Also, I think the Lance=headcase stuff is a bit overblown. First, when the Pacers went into a tailspin, winning only 10 of their final 23 games, Roy Hibbert and Paul George, the team's two max all-stars, played like absolute ****. Lance may not have directed his frustration appropriately, but he continued to compete and play fairly well. Second, the Jazz need talent. Good players and coaches figure out how to use good talent. The 3 primary needs of basketball teams are scoring/creating, shooting/floor spacing, and defending. I'm not sure Gordo does any of those things better than Lance.
