Graphic video released of police killing another black man in cold blood

Just announced the police admitted to NOT identifying themselves and shooting Crawford within seconds of seeing him. As the facts of this case, and Mike Brown's, continue to become public, I will be curious to see how those on this message board who demonized both dead people handle being so wrong.

For what it's worth, 5 of the 6 witnesses who said Mike Brown had his hands up when Wilson murdered him did not know Brown or Wilson. That should've led to a charge. In the wake of the alleged grand jury leak, it's becoming obvious the racist leaders of Missouri are corrupt.

Don't want this to get lost in the shuffle

Granted, "demonize" is an exaggeration. However, if you don't recall people talking about Brown's grabbing the cigarellos (irrelevant), or people talking about Crawford reaching for a gun when he was shot (blatantly false, as it turns out), then you really haven't been paying attention. It's an exaggeration, but not a fabrication.

I watched the video a few more times. It still looks like he is coming back in the picture trying to pick up the gun off the floor. In no way does this excuse the police from making an egregious error, but it does explain why he may have been shot again if he was. I haven't yet read a transcript of the exact sequence of events and the video alone does not make it clear when shots were fired and when the shooting stopped.

The video with synchronized sound makes it clear there were only the two initial shots. They are quite distinct; it's not reasonable to think further shots would have been muffled.

I have a feeling justice will eventually prevail in these cases, along with the instance here in Utah.

Well, when I say justice, I mean the cops will be disciplined and probably lose their jobs, so justice probably isn't the right word...

An exaggeration, by it's very nature, is a fabrication. Holy ****, Donny, you're a teacher?

Yes, and my mother was an English teacher.

Fabricate:
1. to make by art or skill and labor; construct: "The finest craftspeople fabricated this clock."
2. to make by assembling parts or sections.
3. to devise or invent (a legend, lie, etc.).
4. to fake; forge (a document, signature, etc.).

Exaggeration is practically required on this message board (unless it's in support of a postion the reader disaproves of).

Yep. "Demonize" in the context of what has been said in this thread is definitely a fabrication. Thanks for proving the point.

My mother was an English teacher too; how festive!

Your explanation failed to change my mind, however.

Can we just make this a general "cops can really suck and are total idiots many times" thread? Cause I have this lovely story that I'd love to make a new thread with, but don't want to become the new guy who just bashes the cops all the time (just some of the time) with scores of threads about them.

But here is the story...

A bunch of dumbass Georgia cops raid a guy's garden thinking he is growing weed. Turns out he is growing okra. But let's give the cops credit...it was green, it had leaves, and it grew in the ground! What else could it have been? It must not take much of an eduction to be on the Georgia Governor's Task Force for Drug Suppression. Or even the ability to know the difference between a leaf with 5 blades vs. a leaf with 7 or more blades.

No you can only post that if it supports the notion that all cops are evil racist pigs hell bent on nothing less than collecting the most scalps in the effort to exterminate the black race. I didn't read the article but if the guy isn't at least darkly tanned this in no way qualifies.
