Wow! This is a pleasant surprise. I also expect an extension. As soon as we deadline passed and we didn't move him, my expectation was that JZ/DA wanted him in the fold for the long-term. No reason to not flip for anything you could have gotten otherwise.

Given the scorched earth approach we took at the deadline, I'd be surprised if we didn't at least try to retain JC. Surely he had some sort of trade value, a rash of 2nd round picks if nothing else, and if Danny didn't want him in the fold I bet he would've taken that vs. keep him around.

Certainly think there will be better guys available at #9 but I do like him. His strengths speak for themselves and he strikes me as a "high floor" guy. My hope is a top wing/forward falls to us at 9, and if we moved up from 16 to 12-13 for KB, I'd be fine with that.
