Game 28: Jazz @ Thunder Playoff Rematch #1 6pm MT Time

Certainly if you play him 2 minutes a game, or not at all, he will surely be dropping a 20 piece.

2 Minutes should definitely be enough yes?

He will also be the only player in those 2 minutes that can stay in front of the likes of Fox, Schroeder, Westbrook etc. For the rest we'll run Raul the T-Rex Neto who gets abused by everybody.

How the **** did Exum get that ****ing contract. All of those clean and pristine cap moves quickly go to **** on a contract like that and that was straight gamble.

LOL,Quin's offense sucks big time ...it's a catch and shoot offense where nobody can shoot straight .He keeps doubling down and the Jazz chalk up another loss and struggle to score.
I'm not sure how much it has changed since Zach Lowe's podcast, but in a podcast a week or two ago they talked about how the Jazz offense is 1st or close to it in getting the type of shots you want to get (layups, open 3s, etc), but were 23rd (don't quote me exactly on that but it was bad) in offensive efficiency because guys can't make shots this year. Criticisting his offense is dumb because he's putting players in the right positions to succeed in the modern NBA, players just aren't making shots.

Quin probably deserves a bit of criticism for his questionable rotations and I don't think he's very good at making in game adjustments, but his offense scheme is fine.

I mean Neto is fine but Exum is playable for 10-15 minutes a night. He won’t get better not playing... we’ve committed 3/30M to him... he won’t up his trade value riding the pine behind guys like Neto who are fine but not setting the world on fire. We need him to get better or get gone and that doesn’t happen on the bench.

We need him to have a few flashes in meaningful games for those reasons... unless they already have a deal worked out. That 10M is meaningful if we want a max free agent and also need to address point guard or retain Ricky.

It was high too... like what was the second best offer? Not always great to grind a guy you believe in but please don’t open up the checkbook then toss him aside for a replacement level pg. I had hoped we’d get him for 3/24 with third year non guaranteed so we could waive and stretch him if need be.

I get that he effs up... it’s noticeable but Neto threw a terrible turnover tonight too that led to fast break layup... like players mess up it happens. Neto also generally makes the right rotation but guys shoot like he’s not even there.

Paying guys that need to develop then yanking them from the rotation is not ideal when you’ve past up a bunch of win now moves to keep the powder dry.

Jae has been lazy way too many times this year.

Weird. Go figure why a guy driven by emotion and a deep need to belong struggles after his teamates spent part of the summer trying to recruit players who play his position.

Y'all got to stop viewing Exum as this potential PG and just as a defensive specialist w/ some ancillary talents.

I dislike Exum as much as anyone, but in certain playoff series he can have a big impact. Until then he has to take his lumps and improve off the court.

We don’t get him for free. Or cheap. That is my gripe. Players that D up and can’t shoot are abundant, but his decision-making isn’t even good.

i think the problem can be that his offensive system is great for the modern NBA but he doesn't have modern NBA players ..

Locke says long athletic guys who cant dribble or shoot are called defensive specialists. In Utah we call them Exum.

Right, but it seems kinda insane to me to blame Quin for not wanting to run an offense that can't win a championship in today's NBA to better suit his players offense when the majority of them aren't good on that end. That's a GM issue.

Exum is really only good at a few things. He can drive down the middle of the lane, he can drive the baseline from the wing, and he can throw a lob or bounce pass. He can pick and roll a bit on the win g too, I guess.

That's not enough to run Quin's offense.
What does it really take to runs Quin's offense? Doesn't look that spectacular looks like anyone can jack up a three with no consequences. Hardly ever attack and if we do we throw it back out for a three. Rudy dunks that is all the offense is doing.

Sorry...new lingo for positionless basketball.
Here, pick one of these.
His role. His rotation minutes. His roster spot. His salary slot.
Again, I don’t know what or who you’re talking about or how on earth you came to your conclusion.

This team is stocked with big wings that can play the 4 in a pinch. If you’re talking about Paul George who the Jazz of course should have pursued, I don’t see how that directly impacts Crowder. Such an acquisition would impact certain players directly (such as Favors and Exum, Thabo, Jerebko, Udoh, and Burks) but likely wouldn’t impact Crowder as one of the guys competing for his role and minutes (Thabo) would necessarily have to be sent packing (not to mention Favors and Jerebko). If anything, it would immensely clean up the roles of players and the rotation.
