Jazz plan to sign Danuel House

Yeah, but a C+ on defense doesnt really move any needles if he is F- on offense. You might as well just play your D+ defensive students who are getting B's and A's on offense
Hes not an F-... that would be your dude Forrest. Hes a solid spot up shooter... I get he played in Houston but he will get open looks just like Oni/Niang and others did.

He might be the same talent level as Oni but I doubt he will play scared like Oni did. Miye may end up being okay somewhere but he needed time to feel comfortable.

I approve of this signing... this makes sense and is the obvious move imo.... sometimes just do the obvious thing ya know.

We needed some mother effers and House will eff mothers man... even when there ain't any around he will find a way.

So a few things.... first I need to apologize to the Jazz front office for my debbie downer take on the deal yesterday... couple things changed my mind.

1- The 2028 2nd we sent was somewhat encumbered by OKC already. It is a pick that will convey if we suck *** and our first rounder never conveys to OKC because of protections. So it really only had value to us and OKC. It would be tough for a team to value a conditional second round pick.

2- the cash considerations were actually substantial and even out the monetary value. The front office did good work with the details here.

3- The signing of House to a 10-day is a great sign for a couple reasons: He is a bonafide and semi-proven average NBA wing that hypothetically addresses a need or can help in case of injury. The second reason is he has a past that isn't squeaky clean and has a little bit of an iffy rep. We have to take some measured chances on guys like this... I aint saying go get a guy that has a domestic violence history or that is a cancer, but Whiteside had a rep as a goofy dude that was selfish and not a guy to rely on... he's been great. We have to take some chances on guys.... people have slip ups and there are some parts to NBA life that are icky. Get too many of these guys and it can backfire. Have a strong culture and it can be a non-issue. House's incident is pretty tame imo.

Give him a 10 day.... give him some PT... if he looks solid sign him to a minimum deal with a team option on the second year.

If he becomes a good player again here it will also be fun to poke at his bubble incident. We need more fun.

House definitely isn't bonafide. He had 1.5 good seasons in the NBA and 1 good playoff series to his name. His DBPM has never been positive his entire career. He got it to 0 once.

1.5 good seasons on a high level playoff team. No injury... no age regression... he had sex and his team pivoted to young dudes.

Oni has proven nothing. As far as what is available for free... House is as bonafide as it gets.

Well nothing is bonafide thats for free.
Huh? Is this the old… well if he’s good then why hasn’t anyone signed him argument… cuz that **** tired.

He’s proven to be an averagish nba wing over a good enough sample to assume he can be that again. Is he a 5 year starter? Nah but I’d be surprised if given the opportunity he wouldn’t be average again.

Maybe he's actually averagish and those seasons were the real Danuel House, or maybe after the adversity/criticism of his bubble fiasco he has completely broken down as a player and he's incapable of playing in any system that isnt just him standing at the 3pt line waiting for James Harden to pass to him.

Whatever the case is, the NBA doesnt believe in him anymore. It's not often you see a guy his age not too far removed from being an OK player not get any kind of minimum deal.

We are seeing it happen and all the guys getting 10-day deals are exposing that the nba does overlook guys pretty regularly. GP2, Stanley Johnson, Garrison Matthews, hell even Greg Monroe looks like he should still have a roster spot.... Bismack Biyombo has been really good for Phoenix too.

Its possible he's not in great shape or something but its also possible that Houston is a complete **** show and he's not the type of guy that thrives in that environment. You go from actual guys that can set you up to Porter Jr., Jalen Green, etc. and it makes sense a guy like him doesn't show out.

I think Houston was justified to cut him loose. What he did was selfish and hurt the team. It's been long enough now that I think he probably deserves another chance. We'll see what he can do in the limited playing time I'm sure he gets here.

From what I hear, he was the only person bonified in the bubble.

Is this the kind of fun you mean, HH?
Yup... if our announcing team was clever they could slip in some fun innuendos if they were subtle. But knowing them if Boler tried it would be like "and House hammers home a three like he hammered home..." you get where I'm headed.

It was immature and selfish... but Tyson Chandler was rumored to be involved too... he's a vet leader type... the bubble was so unique and I can promise House wasn't thinking about how this affects his teams chances. Would we rather have picked up a guy who refused to even go to the bubble.
