Chess has probably never had that good coverage that it is getting now.
There are far more grandmasters now than ever before in the history of the game. It is growing in popularity, and online resources have made it so many many people can study and learn from the best without needing to piece together games from periodicals or books, they can just run them on chess engines. They can also analyze their own games with the best chess engines the world has ever know, which are far stronger than even the strongest players right now. When I was playing tournament chess I would analyze my own games, but it was me flipping through books or engaging the lone IM in our chess club for help to see what I missed in the position. Now you can run that same game through a chess engine that knows the best move at every possible point in the game. I play a lot on Lichess and I can run an analysis of any game with a single click. It is a wild time to be a chess enthusiast.

IMHO it was a good touch that Maurice Ashley was the chief of the press conference and main announcer at WC in Dubai. I mostly followed the games either via Judith Polgar/Anish Giri duo and sometimes via the Levitov Chess channel (Peter Svidler mostly).
Too bad that the Nepo's performance was similar to Utah Jazz in the playoffs (good on candidates, but failure at games).
What has been your Lichess max rating?
I usually play the 5+3 format. My best so far is probably little bit above 1600 for a short time (i.e only a couple of times). Currently it is fluctuating around 1520-1570. Unless i am tired or just lazy, then it is easy beating those who are less than 1400. However, those who are above 1600 mostly beat me even if i do not do an obvious blunder at start (according to my level). I have couple of times won some games against 1600-1650 opponent even if they have not done any obvious blunders-mouseslips. Obivously, i have a plenty of played games where i lost while having a winning position
2019 i had chance to play one hour with Kaido Külaots (best Estonian GM currently - got a gift card from my friends). Of course i lost; however one of the most difficult aspect against such a strong player is/was the psychological one - i know that i can play the best moves according to my ability but i would still lose

My peak rating on Lichess obviously depends on the format. On 5 min formats I run in the high 1600 to low 1700. On correspondence, which I play a lot, I am generally in the 1800 range, peaked at maybe 1920 or something, currently like 1780. In really short formats I am showing my age because my brain doesn't move that fast anymore so I run in the high 1500 range for bullet games. I followed the WC through agadmator's youtube channel mostly, as I did not have time to follow it anything close to real time. He does excellent analysis and has a good demeanor.
So I had ended up on some kind of post black metal shuffle on Spotify two days ago and hit on this gem. I was surprised to see this band formed in 2017, as I was anticipating this to be an older song (or at least older band). This is the best song I’ve heard (all genres) in a very long time.
