Stupid Pet Peeves

Yeah that is all they do. Is it the one in Riverdale? We drove by that while we were there for Christmas.
I haven't been there but the few times I've driven past one they are super busy.

First class mail.

Used to take 2-3 days from anywhere in the U.S. for a letter to arrive. Now it's generally 7-10 days.

Thanks Trump for ****ing up our mail delivery because you wanted to undermine mail-in voting.

We are fans. The chicken tenders are pretty basic, but the execution is great, always moist and juicy, and crispy breading, just done right. The secret is in their Cane's sauce, which is good for dipping everything. Their cole slaw is decent, a nice cool fresh side. Their fries are crinkle cut and basic as well, pretty good. Better than In N Out and Burger King fries, not as good as Wendy's or McDonald's fries. They serve it with a piece of texas toast as well. You can have anything swapped out for anything else, except more chicken of course, so I usually swap my texas toast for more cole slaw. They do have party packs, which are just large quantities of chicken strips, but they really don't just do them by themselves, but the combos are pretty good and feels like a decent value, at least here in Cali. I would recommend.

My daughter and her husband went on missions in the south, to Jackson MS, and they met Cane's there, so they are die-hard fans. They waited in line for nearly 3 hours when the first one opened in Provo. I like it but I am not that big a fan.

I only waited about 20 minutes to go through drive thru.

They had two police directing traffic. Was pretty smooth.

Have a couple Cali friends swear by it. Had it once before when I was out there so knew it was good quality fast food.

Yes, the new Riverdale location.

Awesome. I will take my parents there the next time we visit. They live in the Terrace.

People that have to back into a parking spot. Why? I hate having to sit there and wait for some joker to back in when they could just go in forward.

If driving a company vehicle it is often required. At my previous place of employment it was required in the parking lot for all vehicles.

It's safer to back into an empty parking space than to back out of that space into a place where people are walking and other cars are driving.

I've gotten into the habit of parking far enough out that I can pull through so that I leave the space going forward. Also has the benefit of not being in the congested part of the parking lot where I would have to wait for people. Obviously I understand that such things are not always possible.

I’m a backer in. I’m usually leaving a parking spot after one of my kids games or church, so there are people everywhere, especially kids. I’d rather pull forward where I can see better around those kids than have to back out into traffic and AND avoid the kids.

I do not know why, but recently the use of the word "ask" as a noun is really grating on my nerves. It is in CONSTANT use.

"What is the ask here?"

"We need to understand the ask."

"Did you submit your ask?"

"Why did the ask change?"

And the best one yet...using ask as a noun when ask as a verb would be much simpler.

"What ask are you saying you need?"

Please just stop.
I like a girl with a big ask.

Don't you have to do this anyway when you are backing in?

Usually people arrive more staggered whereas at the end they are all leaving in a huge mad dash.

At schools and sporting events sure but typically not at stores and restaurants.
He mentioned games and church specifically. I am mixed on the dudes that back in everywhere. I understand the appeal due to the ease of leaving, but it bugs me to have to wait for them all the time too. I think it is generally safer as backing out into traffic is generally less safe than backing into a constrained parking space where there is less going on than in the middle of the parking area. I have seen big trucks that pulled straight in then back out and hit other cars, one dude didn't even realize he hit anyone until we chased him down because he was in a microphallic-compensator and the car he hit was like a little nissan so he barely felt it.

To a point. Log made a good point when he mentioned staggered arrival vs mass exodus. Also, backing in to a spot means I only have to make sure it’s clear behind me. Backing into traffic means I have to make sure it’s clear behind me, next to me, that no one is flying down the aisle trying to beat someone else to a spot, etc. I drive a big truck (it came from the factory like this, but it’s tall. The top of the bed hits me at the armpit and I’m 6 feet tall. Plus it’s long. 6 1/2 bed, full double cab, etc.) and it doesn’t turn all that sharp. It’s easier for me to back it into a stall between two vehicles than it is to go in forward. Trust me, you’ll be waiting for me either way.
I do usually try to go to the end of the row, or out away from other vehicles generally though.

I'd take it up to the counter and after they ring it up tell them that the price is wrong, the tag says it's $4.50...

That would mean I’d have to interact with people. No thanks. I’d rather spend the extra dollar.
